Amber Heard's legal team slammed as 'not very bright' after retrial in Johnny Depp case REJECTED

Penney Azcarate even shaded Amber Heard as she rejected the retrial appeal saying: 'This court is bound by the competent decision of the jury'

Amber Heard had previously deemed the defamation trial to be false and fair claiming that Juror 15 in her trial with Johnny Depp was not the person who was summoned for jury duty. She said that she was robbed of a fair trial. On Friday, July 8, Elaine Bredehoft, who represented Heard, claimed in court that a 52-year-old with the same last name and residence was ineligibly seated for the six-week trial instead of the 72-year-old who was supposed to be joining the jury. On Monday, July 11, Depp's attorney said that Heard should not be allowed to contest the defamation trial result as she waited to do so until the trial results were announced.

Looks like Heard is miles away from copping herself a win. In a court filing on Wednesday, July 13, Fairfax Circuit Court Judge Penney Azcarate rejected every single argument from Heard and her legal team that was pushing for a new trial. The judge wrote in the filing, "The juror was vetted, sat for the entire jury, deliberated, and reached a verdict." It continues reading, saying that Heard, "does not allege juror fifteen’s inclusion on the jury prejudiced her in any way." Judge Azcarate continued, “The only evidence before this court is that the juror and all jurors followed their oaths, the court’s instructions, and orders. This court is bound by the competent decision of the jury.” The lawyers for the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor argued that Heard, 36, argued the jury list before the trial even started.

Explaining the same, the court filing read, "Defendant was provided the jury list five days prior to the commencement of the trial and knew or should have known about the mistake at any time during the seven-week pendency of this trial. She had every opportunity to object to or to voir dire on the issue." Depp's team had argued the same that even if the swap occurred, Heard wasn't negatively impacted by it. Following the same lines, the filing claims that the panel was questioned for a full day. Judge Azcarate ruled, "There is no evidence of fraud or wrongdoing."  Depp's fans were not going to let their idol's victory in court go uncelebrated as they banded against Heard online in a troll fest. Chanley Shá Painter, a legal Correspondent @CourtTV tweeted the filing saying, "Chief Judge Azcarate Just Denied All of #AmberHeard’s Post-Trial Motions @CourtTV #breaking #johnnydepp"

'Another win for Johnny Depp', say fans

One user wrote, "Amber Heard Denied (emoji) I am not surprised that Judge A denied ALL Amber Heards post-trial motions. The court made clear that Juror 15 was summoned by name and address and that his birthdate WAS NOT LISTED on the summons. The Juror questionnaire had his PROPER birthdate." Another troll wrote, "I'm glad to see Judge A put in the effort to factually and legally debunk the Juror 15 issue in its entirety. There was no fraud or deception by anyone except Amber Heard, as usual."

A Twitter user said, "I read over these legal docs and came away with the conclusion that AH's legal team must not be very bright. At least one if not all should have known the law as stated. At this point I have to wonder if they aren't just in it for the money." A Depp fan wrote, "This is good news! Not sure what AH will do with it, but I think it’s another win win for #JohnnyDepp! Let’s see how an appeal goes. That should be interesting bc I still don’t believe AH can control the narrative. I’m still waiting to see if Elaine will have any sanctions!"

One user pointed out how the jury only followed the facts and was unbiased saying, "I loved the shade at the end "the only evidence before this court is that this juror and all the jurors followed their oaths, the courts instructions and orders". AKA the jurors did NOT use social media as AH and EB stated." One social media user wrote, "Is it just me or did this judge become the new groundhog. We wait for her forced return time and again just for her to tell AH's team they're dumb. We know what she'll say but it feels so good hearing it."
