Jeff Bezos, 58, who is the third richest person in the world, spent up to an hour admiring and applauding the gems, artworks, and other prized possessions with his family during a tour of the Queen's main London residence.

The key highlight of the tour taken by Amazon’s founder was a display that included Queen's dazzling diamond diadem. The diadem of the monarch is set with 1,333 brilliant-cut precious diamonds and is decorated with 169 alluring freshwater pearls.

Bezos, who also founded aerospace manufacturer Blue Origin in 2000 spent £90 per ticket for the after-hours Buckingham Palace tour before he shared a lavish dinner with 'Top Gun' star Tom Cruise. A report by The Sun claimed that Bezos was spotted with his partner Lauren Sanchez, 52, at a Mayfair restaurant, with the Golden Globe winner.

“The Bezos visit is already jokingly being nicknamed a ‘shopping trip’ by Palace staff. He showed a particular interest in the Throne Room and Ballroom.” The Sun quoted their source saying. The source added, “It overlapped slightly with the public opening, so he was moved room to room discreetly to hide his visit from the day’s last remaining visitors.”

Bezos visited the State Room after the Royal Administration closed it to the public in 2019 due to the surge in coronavirus pandemic. For the unreversed, the State Room also contains breath-taking masterpieces by Rubens, Rembrandt, and Canaletto. However, on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee, the Queen’s Accession exhibition opened for the public on July 22 and will remain open until October 02. As per guidance by Royal Collection Trust, standard adult tickets cost £30 ($36)while those aged 18 to 24 would need to pay £19.50 ($24).

The Amazon Mogul, who recently got dethroned from the position of 'World’s Richest Man' by Elon Musk is believed to be on Monday’s private tour with his close family and friends. Bezos' palace tour has been garnering mixed reactions from social media users. While one user wrote “Jeff Bezos glimpse into Royalty. Everyone wants to associate with the royals...this is why Hollywood will never take the harkles seriously”. Another user jokingly said “William better watch out with giving his billionaire “eco-warrior” friends access to royal grounds….sounds like another future Epstein saga.”

There is no denying the fact that Bezos has a love for exotic and lavish vacation trips. Earlier, Bezos enjoyed a luxurious and romantic vacation in Paris with his partner Lauren Sanchez. To embrace his 'holiday self', Bezos purchased a vacation home, located in an isolated area on the island's south shore, last October for a reported $78 million.
