NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Corbin Bleu recently talked about his upcoming project Black Broadway: A Proud History, A Limitless Future. The actor is sharing the stage with the elite artist of the industry which goes to premiere on February 28. As the name suggests, the show is about Black artists who gave some of the best performances on Broadway and will be now replicated by a new generation of Black Broadway performers.

"It was an easy 'yes,'" starts Bleu while talking about working with likes of Nikki Renee Daniels, Tiffany Mann, Nova Payton, Stephanie Mills, Amber Iman, Sydney James Harcourt, Peppermint, Nova Payton, Norm Lewis, John Manzari, and Leah Flynn. "What a wonderful opportunity to be able to stand on stage with all of these incredible Black performers, celebrating all of these iconic moments in the history of musical theater for Black culture. I'm proud of it. It was an amazing experience that I'll never forget", said Bleu.

'Not an easy ticket'

The 34-year-old star continued, "Just watching every single performance be hit out of the park. There wasn't a single weak link, there wasn't a single moment where you weren't completely captivated." Here to play his part in honoring Black artists, Bleu believes there were a few Black artists who get to make it big, "From a theater and stage perspective, going to see a Broadway show is not an easy ticket." He also said, “And the times where I did get to go see them, that wasn't always something that I saw someone up there on stage like myself. Same thing watching a lot of the old classic musical movies, especially a lot of the mainstream, it wasn't a whole lot," as per People report.

Talking about reflecting on the comparison between the stage and the screen, Bleu said that he thinks that there can’t be any comparison, and added that "It's a community. It's vulnerability. You are burying yourself with this group, this troupe, in front of this audience every single night and it forms a bond."

What was the reason behind Bleu's early success?

The actor talks about the different kinds of roles he has played, as he shares that the Chad Danforth character in the High School Musical franchise has the biggest impact on him. "I don't think that I fully understood its impact until later on in life," he said about the franchise. He further added, "A lot of us were in our teenage years, we were just having a great time. We worked hard, we were hungry. We were giving everything, all of our body to this project, which I do think is a major factor towards its success."
