George Clooney 's wife Amal is reportedly obsessed with Meghan Markle and has developed a very strong bond with the Duchess of Sussex.

The 41-year-old British-Lebanese attorney and her actor-husband were among the A-list celebrities who attended Prince Harry and Meghan's royal wedding in London in 2018. The Hollywood couple later provided their private jet for the Duchess' over-the-top baby shower in New York City earlier this year.

“Amal Clooney is obsessed with Meghan,” an insider told Radar Online. “She does everything she can to spend time with her and keep in touch with her.”

Since Amal spends a lot of time in London, she and Meghan have had the time to bond over issues that concern both of them but they have preferred to keep their relationship under the radar.

“Amal texts her, gives her parenting advice and how to follow fame advice,” the insider added. “She wants to be friends with her more than anyone else because of the royalty and fame connection."

It was rumored that Amal never really got along with Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt's ex-wife, when the two of them were married, despite the 'Fight Club' actor being a very good friend of the attorney's husband. That is not the case when it comes to the American-born royal. Apparently, Amal and the Duchess' kids also get along well. “Meghan and Amal have secret lunches and play dates and are quite good friends,” the source spilled to Radar.

George Clooney, 58, also shares a special place in his heart for Meghan as he has been defending the Duchess against her "unfair" portrayal by the British press. "I've seen it when the press can turn on you for sort of ridiculous reasons and for almost nothing and it seemed to me to be a little unjust since she hadn't done anything except just happen to live her life," the actor told 'Good Morning Britain' in March, The Telegraph reported.

"She's a really kind and smart and intelligent young woman and they're a really wonderful, loving couple," he added. "Most of it you can just shrug off and not pay attention to, but sometimes it's unkind."
