Who is Oliver Anthony?

Oliver Anthony is an American country singer-songwriter who became an Internet sensation after releasing his songs. One of his most famous songs is ‘Rich Men North of Richmond’.

Recently, he released another song titled 'I Want to Go Home,' which also managed to capture the audience's attention and praise.

The musician once claimed in a Facebook post that he has received several offers from several music producers which amount to upto $8 million dollars.

However, he has turned down the offers, and till now has been releasing his music independently.

He wrote on his Facebook account, "People in the music industry give me blank stares when I brush off 8 million dollar offers. I don't want 6 tour buses, 15 tractor trailers and a jet. I don't want to play stadium shows, I don't want to be in the spotlight."

However, the independent singer-songwriter has still earned over $350,000 in royalties through the streaming of his songs, reports Billboard.

Where can you catch Oliver Anthony performing live?

While Anthony is firmly opposed to million dollar record company deals, he is - thankfully - not opposed to performing live.

Anthony is all set to perform on-stage at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival, scheduled to run from September 7 to 10, along with renowned bands like Slipknot, Megadeth, and Evanescence.
