John Callahan, who is best known for his roles in 'All My Children' and 'Marvin's Room' has passed away at the age of 66. The news about his death was first announced by Daytime Emmys. “We’re devastated to share that John Callahan passed away earlier today. Sending our deepest condolences to Eva La Rue and all his loved ones,” they wrote.

The cause of his death was stated to be a stroke. After hearing the news, many of the late actor's closed aides and celebrity friends took to social media to express their condolences.  Callahan’s ex-wife, Eva LaRue, who also worked with him in 'All My Children', took to Instagram to share a series of throwback pictures of the actor with their daughter, Kaya, 18.

In her post she wrote, "May Flights of Angels Wing You to Your Rest my Dear Friend. You're bigger than life, gregarious personality will leave a hole in our hearts forever. We are devastated-My great friend, co-parent partner, and loving father to Kaya"

"That big belly laugh, bear hugs, bad puns, ability to harmonize to any song, great kitchen table singing-fests, and two-stepping badass! “Johnny Numbers”, my All My Children soap stud, the great timekeeper, Beatles fanatic ( I wish to God we could go back to “Yesterday”)" She continued saying, "Kaya and I are beyond broken-hearted, so stunned, sorry that my thoughts are a mess. You gave the best most beautifully written tributes, and I am at a complete loss for words right now for you."

She concluded the post by writing, "I hope Heaven has baseball and that your team always wins! The Yankees have just lost their biggest Fan." Kelly Ripa, who had also worked on the show paid her respects to the late actor by posting a throwback picture and captioned it as, “Because there are no words, all I can muster is Rest In Peace #johncallahan My heart breaks for you @evalarue and @kaya_callahan.”

Many fans also poured in their thoughts and condolences after hearing the news. "I still can’t grasp that he’s gone! End of an era! Fly high John! Your two biggest fans are going to miss you like crazy! Love you guys! XoxoLaWigger," one wrote.

"I will never forget how good #JohnCallahan looked as "Eduardo" in the shortest shorts known to mankind in the scene where flirts shamelessly with the great Phoebe Wallingford, pretending to be her gigolo. LEGENDARY.," another wrote while sharing a clip from 'All My Children'.
