'Alice' Episode 7: Min-hyuk saves Tae-yi in the present and ends up getting stabbed while Jin-gyeom is away
'Alice' Episode 7 begins with a man from the future attempting to attack Professor Tae-yi (Kim Hee-seon) after writing some formulas in blood on the wall. Jin-gyeom (Joo Won) who was nearby at the moment hears her scream and rushes in to hear the assailant talk on the phone to someone called 'Teacher'. Who is this person and why does this person believe that Tae-yi poses a threat to the future? Jin-gyeom's team continues to investigate the death of Tae-yi's friend Moon Seo-jin who last had the timecard. Now, Tae-yi and Jin-gyeom have lost key evidence to prove that time traveling was possible and probably the cause of many unsolved crimes in the past and present.
First, Jin-gyeom uses this to figure out how scientist Seok Oh-wan was involved with his mother. However, before he could meet the professor, the man is kidnapped.
Ju Hae-min, a man from the future used the same route that Lee Se-heon had used in the past and he also is the same man who killed one of the researchers and kidnapped Oh-won. Before being kidnapped the scientist revealed to Jin-gyeom that everything began with his mother Park Sun-young who brought the Book of Prophecy once to Oh-won and told him to protect the book, himself and employ a team of researchers to stop time travelers from doing evil things. She also introduced Oh-won to Yoon Tae-yi without the professor's knowledge all in 2010 before her death. She told Oh-won that whatever happens Tae-yi's research shouldn't be stopped.
As the number of people who can help Jin-gyeom dwindle down, he has no one but Tae-yi to depend on at the moment. On the other hand, we see her struggle with Post-traumatic stress disorder. So at the moment, she cannot be of much help to him either. If the teacher is not on the same side as Alice, who is it? If he doesn't profit from time-traveling like Alice, what is this person's motivation? Figuring this out would be Tae-yi's and Jin-gyeom's next step. At this time, we see Tae-yi arrive at the orphanage where she had grown up before being adopted, and she hears about a detective asking about her whereabouts and verifying her background too. This man also asked if Tae-yi didn't have a book in her hand when she arrived at the hospital. This man, Jin-gyeom believes is the accomplice and it is pertinent that he be captured. The only way left is to interrogate Min-hyuk who is in police custody.
Jin-gyeom begins with the murder of the celebrated physicist and concludes that the death had to do with the Book of Prophecy. Driving the investigation he comes very close to finding out the connection between Sun-young and Min-hyuk, but is one question short of making the connection and instead learns about how time travelers have to frequently deal with radiation leading to spots all over the body. He also gets a composite sketch of the man trying to kill Tae-yi and is able to save her again. However, why the people from the future are going to this extent is still not answered. However, what is shocking is the fact that the detective who adopted Jin-gyeom after his mother's death is somehow involved in time travel too.
In fact, it turns out that the one to abduct Oh-won is not the man from the future but this detective. He also leads the Book of Prophecy while he is at it. How is he connected to all of this? While all of this happens, Jin-gyeom decides to take Tae-yi to a temporary residence to keep her safe. This turns out to be the home where Jin-gyeom lived with his mother. Now, the two can figure out where the Iast page of the Book of Prophecy is and close the time gate once and for all.
