'Alice' Episode 2 will see Jin-gyeom's bestie, who potentially has Book of Prophecy’s last page, in danger
The 'Alice' Episode 2 promo is out and it shows Jin-gyeom (Joo Won) get mixed up further in the business of Alice - a group of individuals who travel back and forth in time. Jin-gyeom is the son of one such traveler who was known as Tai-yi but had lived as Park Sun-young (Kim Hee-seon) as far as Jin-gyeom had known. This is the reason why he was extremely surprised to see a woman who looks exactly like his mother, if not younger. He also experiences time freeze when he attempts to rush towards her and talk to her. In the promo, we also see Jin-gyeom face another problem as his best friend ends up falling in trouble.
Do-yeon (Lee Da-in) is the same girl who had told the cops that she had seen Jin-gyeom in the terrace when his classmate had jumped to her death. However, when she learns that he had tried to save her and not pushed her, she apologizes to him and the two even help solve why their classmate had taken such a tragic step. Turns out, the two stayed close as he became a police officer, and she, a reporter. In the promo, it looks like a criminal has taken Do-yeon hostage and when JIn-gyeom tries to save her, and find out where she is held, he is told that she is dead.
This man also seems to have some kind of connection to the time travelers from Tae-yi's life and that is what makes us wonder if Do-hyeon is the little girl who has the last page of 'Book of Prophecy', who had witnessed her father's death and was saved by Tai-yi and Min-hyuk. However, if that was the case, she is a few years older than Jin-gyeom and couldn't be in the same class as him.
If she is not the little girl, there is no reason why time travelers would be interested in her. She also doesn't seem to believe in the existence of time travelers because we see her ask Jin-gyeom if he hurt his head. This, after he tells her that he met his dead mother again. How can a dead person return to life, is her argument and it seems that Jin-gyeom partly agrees with her. Which is why he needs his friend's help in solving this mystery. Did she become a victim because she decided to help her friend instead?
Either way, we will have to see why the time travelers have taken a sudden interest in Tai-yi's son's life or if they are even aware of Tai-yi having birthed a child. The only one who has heard about this is Tai-yi's lover Min-hyuk and we see this man confront Jin-gyeom in the promo as well with the two being involved in a car chase. So, is the Min-hyuk in Jin-gyeom's present not aware of Tai-yi's child? That is a question that we can look forward to being answered as well.
'Alice' airs on SBS on Fridays and Saturdays at 10 pm KST.
