Alfie Tollett: Heartbroken family honors their 'precious' seven-year-old boy who was run over by car

PLYMOUTH, UNITED KINGDOM: The family of a seven-year-old boy, killed in a car accident close to Plymouth, has paid tribute to their "special cheeky, funny, and precious little man." On February 19, in Plymstock, Plymouth, a collision near a rugby club resulted in life-threatening injuries for young Alfie Tollett. After being detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, a 55-year-old man was later released on police bail.

Alfie was taken to the hospital right away, but despite the best efforts of the medical staff, he tragically died. In a heartbreaking tribute, his parents expressed their grief over the tragic event and how his passing had 'left a massive hole' in their family.

'We will never ever forget you'

The tribute read, "To our Alfie moos, we miss you, sweetheart and we will never ever forget you." The tribute further added, "This has to be one of the hardest things we have had to do as a family. On Sunday, our precious little Alfie was involved in a horrible incident where sadly he lost his life," as reported by Daily Mail.

The tribute went on and added, "This has left a massive hole in our whole family. Our Alfie was not just our son and brother, but also a grandson, a cousin, a nephew and a friend to so many people. He was our special cheeky, funny and precious little man. Our hearts are completely broken. We are so numb and are struggling to understand why this has happened. We would like to thank you for the kind words of support we have received." At the very end, the tribute mentioned, "Fly high our baby. Thank you for the best seven years of our lives. All our love Mummy, Daddy, Jack and Teddy. X"

Tributes pour in from local rugby clubs

The boy was a member of Plymstock Albion Oaks RFC, which has since paid tribute to him. Other rugby clubs have also paid their respects, praising the deceased boy in the comments section. The message read, "It is with deep shock and sadness that we regret to inform you of the tragic loss of a young life of one of our own today. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and their friends during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all," as reported by Plymouth Herald.
