Alexa Demie has become the talk of the town! Best known for playing Maddy Perez in HBO's 'Euphoria', the actress and singer won many hearts with her portrayal of the emotionally complex bad girl. Born in Los Angeles, California, she was raised by her single mother Rose Mendez, of Mexican descent. A makeup artist, she instilled a passion for beauty in her daughter with fashion magazines lying around the house and Alexa loved to read them. “She would put them in my room, in the bathroom,” Demie told People. “I remember sitting on the floor and going through every magazine.”

A detailed feature in The Love Magazine spills more details about her. As per the article, she was born in East Hollywood and attended John Marshall High School in Los Feliz, which Leonardo DiCaprio once attended. She was raised in Atwater Village and as per the interview, she said it is "now really nice but it wasn’t when I was growing up." She added, "Glendale Boulevard was completely different. There was a Cold Stone there and now it’s a super bougie ice cream spot. I was sad about it when it left. So Atwater is super bougie. But I’m happy for my grandma."

As per a W Magazine article, Demie was fond of acting, music and even fashion as a teenager. She even started her own sunglasses line in high school and custom-made a costume for one of Nicki Minaj's first music video. “I’ve always known from a young age that I was meant to have multiple careers,” she said. Before 'Euphoria', she auditioned for director Augustine Frizell’s film 'Never Goin' Back' but was didn't get that part. A year later, Frizell emailed her for another role in the HBO TV show and that's how she rose to fame.

“I've just never been one to give up,” she told People in the 2019 interview which quoted her age as 24. The feature also went on to shed light on her own eyewear line, appearance in Vogue México and a Rodarte lookbook along with her single 'Girl Like Me' and costume designs for Nicki Minaj. That's a lot to achieve in such a short time, isn't it? Probably that's why a rumor stirred a storm on Twitter when several fans were shocked to know she was probably 29 years old.

"ALEXA DEMIE IS TWENTY NINE???" one said and another posted, "ALEXA DEMIE IS 29-????/2)267)2):: YALL MUST BE LYING!" One even went on to say: "Alexa Demie aka Maddy from Euphoria is 29 and older than Jacob Elordi?????"

The chatter first sparked with a list of alumni from John Marshall High School batch of 2008. The list has Demie's name among 32 other former students. Screenshots of that list were soon circulated on social media and people estimated her age to be either 29 or 30.

However, many fans then came to her defense and said how does it matter if she covered up her actual age. One said, "So what if Alexa Demie is 29? I don’t think y’all know what 30 years olds look like," and another posted, "Y’all really finding out Alexa Demie is pushing 30 like it’s a bad thing. The eternal doll is what she is." One even went on to say: "This Alexa Demie conspiracy theory is showing how normalized ageism is for some of y'all."

The actress has also guest-starred on TV shows like 'Ray Donovan', 'Love', 'The OA' and also appeared on 'Waves' alongside Sterling K Brown. Although, we cannot prove if it's her or someone else listed in the John Marshall High School alumni, but as the rumors spread like wildfire on the Internet, we can only quote actress Joan Collins — “Age is just a number. It's totally irrelevant unless, of course, you happen to be a bottle of wine.”
