MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Alec Baldwin has revealed that he and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, have pitched a reality TV show based on their family life because he wants to retire from acting and spend more time at home.

The 65-year-old 'Boss Baby' actor, who shot and killed Halyna Hutchins on the 'Rust' movie set, may be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Baldwin is the father of eight children, seven he conceived with Hilaria; and daughter Ireland, 28, from his marriage to his ex-wife Kim Basinger, 69.

Alec Baldwin ready for reality TV gambit

Alec revealed during an interview with Kelly Ripa on SiriusXM's 'Let's Talk Off Camera' that he hoped to emulate 'The Kardashians' and 'The Osbournes' by inviting cameras into his New York residence.

This comes after he said that his earnings from a prior project hardly broke even since he was spending them on lodging, airfare, and food for his massive family.

"In the old days I'd jump on a plane and go to LA and do a movie here or a few episodes of Will and Grace I did for a while," he shared. "You know, different things like that. And it was easy to pick up and go."

"They don't even have, I need 12 plane tickets, you know, nannies, kids, my wife, I need like 11. They don't even have 11 seats in the business class section of the plane," he noted.

Recounting a work-related trip to Los Angeles four years ago, he said, "We'd be in a hotel and we always stayed in the same hotel 'cause it was the only hotel that could put four suites together, so we could all live together."

"And I look at my wife and I go, 'You realize we're not gonna make a dime, we're not gonna make one cent,'" he remembered.

"Here we are mashed potatoes, $20 room service, a diet Coke is $11. I said, 'You realize we're not gonna make a penny. The private plane, the hotel, the room service, we're gonna break even on this job I'm doing,'" Baldwin said.

"So everything we did and then... shows we have considered and pitches we've heard, and even one or two pitches we've made about our family - and that reality show has been so we could stay home and just work from home," Alec continued, revealing the type of work he and Hilaria are currently looking for.

"I'm desperate to try to work from New York," he revealed.

"I think it's the smartest thing," Kelly responded. "It's a show I would so watch because you're very ensconced in the Hollywood world. You are a world renowned actor."

Baldwin and Hilaria live in New York City with their children, Carmen, 10, Rafael, 8, Leonardo, 6, Romeo, 5, Eduardo and Lucia, 2, and Ilaria, 1.

He reaffirmed in the same interview that he was thinking about giving up acting.

Baldwin told Kelly, "I've been working less and less and more at home with my wife and we want to travel the world with the kids."

"I want to show seven kids places like Rome, London, Paris, Madrid, and blah, blah, blah.. And we're thinking about that now, where we have a different life in terms of work," he said.

"I really do think about, you know, I've kinda had enough, I mean, I've done this for a long time, and I wanna have a private life," Baldwin added.

Baldwin's onset shooting case goes on

Baldwin's candid admission about wanting a more private life came just a few weeks after he vowed to defend himself in court should he be accused of involuntary manslaughter for fatally shooting Hutchins to death while filming 'Rust'.

He hit the cinematographer with the Colt.45 revolver he was holding on October 21, 2021, while she was filming a scene inside a church. She was taken to the hospital and later declared dead.

Additionally, he gave director Joel Souza a shoulder blow.

Baldwin has consistently maintained that he did not pull the trigger and that the gun fired on its own.

The 65-year-old actor was charged with involuntary manslaughter in January after a lengthy investigation, but those charges were later dropped in April after his defense attorneys questioned the gun's reliability.

They proposed that the gun he was using might have been tampered with before he handled it, causing it to act strangely when he pulled the trigger.

According to a report released in August of this year, the revolver was not altered; rather, it required pulling the trigger to fire.

Prosecutors in New Mexico declared on October 17 that they would bring the case before a grand jury.

Luke Nikas, the actor's lawyer, described the ruling as "unfortunate" and stated he plans to pursue the matter in court.

"It is unfortunate that a terrible tragedy has been turned into this misguided prosecution. We will answer any charges in court," the attorney said.

Within the next two months, the case will be presented to the grand jury for potential criminal charges, according to special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis.

Alec might spend up to eighteen months in prison if proven guilty.

Involuntary manslaughter charges were also brought against Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer who oversaw the security of the actors and crew on set. She will go on trial in February.

Dave Halls, the assistant director of 'Rust', agreed to a plea bargain concerning a charge of careless use of a lethal weapon.

Halls received a six-month supervised probationary sentence in March, while it still remains a mystery how live rounds ended up on set.

Social media takes aim at Baldwin

Alec Baldwin's reality TV aspirations led to some sniping humor on social media.

One X user said, "Worth a shot."

Another wrote: "I don’t know about you but I’ve had just about enough of this guy."

An X user warned, "Make sure he doesn't hire any stunt coordinators."

"If he kills somebody every season this could be a thing," a cheeky tweet read.

Another asked, "The same Baldwin which killed a fellow crew member in cold blood?"

"Somebody give this man a shot. His show will be killer!" another quipped.

"Does he shoot anyone on the show?" someone else asked.

"Imagine killing someone and not go to prison, but instead awarding them with a reality show instead," another fumed.
