In his latest rant against Donald Trump, Actor Alec Baldwin has said that only "mentally ill" people will choose to reelect the POTUS into the office for his second term.

The 'Saturday Night Live' star took to Twitter and wrote that Trump had gained unprecedented control over government institutions and also taken the liberty to sack a number of federal workers and hence he should be voted to run the country again.

“Trump has reached for, and nearly gained, a control of the federal [government] unrivaled by other Presidents,” Baldwin said. “He fired huge numbers of [government] professionals. He steamrolled the Congress, whenever possible. And now this. If you vote for Trump again, you are mentally ill.”

As soon as his tweet went life, supporters of Trump started rallying behind their president and they took to the comments section to slam the actor.

"It’s actually hilarious that Alec Baldwin has the gall to call ANYONE mentally ill. No self-awareness at all." one user said, while another opined, "When Trump and Biden go to the polls to vote, I give Biden a 50/50 chance at forgetting to check his own name on the ballot."

However, not everyone seemed to be against Baldwin's opinion. Nevertheless, they did tell him to keep his remarks on the down-low. "The harder you push to have the man lose the next election and the more you continue to insult his base the stronger you make him. Have we not learned anything from the last election," a third wrote.

A fourth, on the other hand, commented, "Not keen on the slur on mentally unwell folk but certainly your thinking processes are broken if you think reelecting Trump is a good plan," the user said.

This is not the first time that Baldwin has accused Trump's supporters of not doing the right thing. Back in January, the actor had taken to social media to blame them for ruining our country by their choice for POTUS.

“American democracy has always been a struggle between the misaligned protections of specific freedoms and a raging, at times intoxicating, 12 cylinder economy. It demanded vigilant/consistent regulation, compassion for the disenfranchised and the periodic display of a necessary sacrifice that allowed for the long term health of our society at the expense of short term whims,” Baldwin had tweeted

He added at the time: “The desecration of those ideals and the near moral collapse of this country falls squarely in the lap of Trump’s supporters, as opposed to Trump himself, who is merely what psychology labels the ‘objective negative function.' Like fire, floods and earthquakes, it destroys, and only destroys, by its very nature. Without prejudice. It is Trump voters, particularly those who would re-elect him who bears the blame. For the undeniable and colossal destruction of everything that matters to us as Americans that cannot be merely monetized.”

As for Trump himself, Baldwin has not shied away from criticizing him, even comparing him to Adolf Hitler.

"You wonder how Hitler took control of a once great country. For those of you too young to recall the War or its aftermath, simply watch how this GOP-controlled Senate behaves. Their sniveling fealty and lack of courage. And you begin to get it," he tweeted in February.
