Al Roker turns 69! 'Today' host dons chef's hat as he receives perfect gift from wife Deborah Roberts
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Today' show host Al Roker turns 69 on Sunday, August 20, and the celebration is already in full swing!
As he went about a busy weekend nearing the end of his 60s, Roker revealed the gift that probably was an easy win this year for the best gift ever.
It was without a doubt from his lovely wife Deborah Roberts. Roker could not help but show the present off through an Instagram post.
Many of his fans flocked to his post to share their wishes for his big day and to also comment on an unexpected hobby of their favorite 'Today' host.

Deborah Roberts gifts a griddle to Al Roker
In an Instagram post made by the morning show host, Roker shared that Roberts had gifted him a griddle for his special day. The caption said, "My birthday present from @debrobertsabc is a @blackstoneproducts griddle, completing my #ringoffire."
The way he seemed excited to share the gift with his followers showed that he had been wanting that griddle for quite some time.

Not only that but Roker also showed his entire backyard set up along with the shiny new griddle. The Roker backyard was filled with several fancy cooking appliances and stations, including a whole stone oven and several barbecue grills for the perfect outdoor meals.
He proudly called the setup of all his appliances a "Ring of Fire", showing that he was quite the nerd about cooking!
Fans shocked to find out about Al Roker's hidden hobby
Roker is a master of many skills and it is no secret that he is a big fan of food, both when it comes to enjoying it and cooking it. His Instagram page is full of pictures of appetizing dinners that he waxes poetic over consistently.
Roker even went on to reveal the big meal he had already put the griddle to use for on his special day.

But it did come as a surprise to many that he had an extended collection of backyard cooking appliances.
"Wow! That’s a lot of grills!" a fan commented under his post. "Al I think you have a SMALL addiction to outdoor appliances," one fan joked while another one said, "Are you opening a restaurant? Enough grilling space for dozens."
