Adin Ross criticizes Pokimane's 'broke boy' comment
In the video, Pokimane was responding to remarks made by a spectator against her cookie company, Myna Snacks, on X, (formerly Twitter). Pokimane responded by labeling them an "idiot" and a "broke boy."
She said, "I've got to say this one last time - it makes my brain go boom when people are like, 'Oh, my god! $28 for cookies?!' It's four bags. That's $7 a pack. I know math is hard when you're an idiot. But, if you're a broke boy, just say so."
Adin Ross addressed the video on his Kick broadcast following its viral success. He said that Pokimane was to fault for the criticism she faced, saying, "So this backlash that she's getting is 100% her fault."
He went on to say, "I would never get backlash for this. I swear to God. Y'all would not give a flying f**k. It's your fault for setting up a l*btard community who cancels everything you do."
Adin Ross, in a video, argued that Pokimane should be canceled based on her persona and target demographic.
He went on to say, "I laugh at this Pokimane, I don't think you should be canceled for this, for the clip. But I think you should be canceled for this because of what you..who you are and what your audience is. Your own audience is canceling you."
MoistCr1tikal reacts to Pokimane's statement
Although the Twitch broadcaster has faced a great deal of criticism, MoistCr1tikal, a YouTuber, attacked Pokimane in his most recent video, saying he was "dumbfounded" by the contentious remark. He remarked, "It's just a really s**tty thing to say."
He remarked, “I don’t know what would possess her to say something so rude and nasty to the audience she is trying to sell this product to.”
He further added, “Trying to call people broke for not buying or not being able to afford it is some really out-of-touch s**t.”
Subsequently in the video, MoistCr1tikal continued to clarify that it is her audience who have contributed to her fortune by watching her streams and making personal donations.
He said, "Your wealth was built on their backs. Them watching you supplied you money through the ads that get played to them. Them directly donating to you, took their money and gave it to you. If they weren’t watching you, you’d be getting no sponsors which make up a lot of streamers’ income."
“You need them. And you are dropping trousers and s**tting in their mouth right now by just insulting them over having legitimate criticisms over the price point of the product,” he went on to say.
