Details of Adele and Simon Konecki's $170M divorce will be kept private, court rules
A court in Los Angeles has agreed to singer Adele’s request for keeping the details of her $170 million divorce to Simon Konecki private. The 31-year-old singer and her husband are divorcing after being in a relationship for over eight years. At the time of getting married in 2016, the couple didn’t sign a prenup, putting Adele’s vast fortune at risk. The couple split up last April after the singer filed for a divorce.
The couple has decided to share the custody of their seven-year-old son Angelo. As per Adele’s request, the court has ruled that confidential details such as financials will not be available for public access. Those people who wish to access the nitty-gritty details of the couple’s divorce will have to reportedly sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
A source close to the couple told The Sun. “Hollywood divorces can drag on for years and become extremely ugly. Adele and Simon clearly don’t want that." The source also added, “They are both committed to keeping the details as private as possible for the sake of their son. They are trying to work out their issues.”
The singer who currently resides in Beverly Hills has reportedly already bought a mansion close to hers for Simon. It has been rumored that Adele’s preference to stay in LA, and Simon’s to stay in the UK has created a major discord in the couple’s marriage. Simon who is the founder of an eco-friendly water company began dating the singer in 2011, and the couple got married in a secret ceremony in 2016.
Adele revealed the news of their marriage to the world during her 2017 Grammy’s acceptance speech when she referred to Simon as her husband.
The couple’s separation has clearly taken a toll on Adele, as she has lost immense weight, and described the previous year as a “difficult year”. Adele has in the past used her painful life experiences to create beautiful music. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the ‘Hello’ singer has been working hard in the studio creating and recording songs which will surely leave fans awestruck, as it will be born out of her pain.
