As the death toll from coronavirus continues to surge by the day, people across the globe are urged to safeguard themselves from the deadly disease using protective gear such as masks and gloves. Those who fail to follow rules have no choice but to face the bitter consequences. The ‘Grown Ups’ actor Adam Sandler had quite an experience recently when he stepped out of his residence amid coronavirus without wearing a mask.

Sandler, in his latest interview with Jimmy Kimmel in tonight’s (May 11) episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, explained what happened when he forgot to put on a mask while heading out of the house. When the host asked Sandler if his family has been cooking all their meals or ordering from outside, the actor said he often drives around in his van to pick food from restaurants when he’s bored of regular meals.

Adding to that he said last night when he craved for some Chinese food, he called one of his friends for suggestions. But, when the duo took too long to make up their mind about what food to order while on the call, the woman representing the restaurant hung up on them. Unable to control their craving, Sandler along with his friend and wife Jackie decide to drive to the restaurant, only to realize on arriving that the actor wasn’t wearing a mask.

When a worried Sandler wondered what to do, Jackie apparently offered him Listerine wipes. Ignoring his wife’s offer when Sandler went ahead to place his order, the Chinese restaurant worker refused to come close to him to take his credit card and started yelling at him while standing nearly 30 feet away. However, when his friend went to collect the order, who also wasn’t wearing a mask, he didn’t have to face the brunt of it.

Although Sandler was disappointed about being yelled at, he shared the entire incident on an extremely funny note. Meanwhile, his fans were quick to take to Twitter to thank him for offering light-hearted entertainment on Kimmel’s show. One fan wrote, “@AdamSandler Thank you for your humor on @jimmykimmel as you picked up carry out.  We needed the laughs as humor is best when unmasked. And yes, I wear a mask. Thanks Geno @GeneWolters”

“Completely content with dressing like Adam Sandler while in public,” joked another.

Another Twitter user wrote, “Adam Sandler describing the chaos of ordering Chinese food over the phone is exactly why I hate ordering Chinese food over the phone.”

‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ airs on all the weekdays on ABC. You can also catch all the latest home-edition episodes on Jimmy Kimmel’s official YouTube channel.
