Adam Levine, 40, debuts bleached cornrows in workout video showing him doing pushups with heavy chains on his back
'Maroon 5' lead singer Adam Levine debuted his new look on his Instagram story Tuesday and was almost unrecognizable with bleached cornrows, a hairstyle he dubbed "corn hawk".
The 40-year-old appeared in the story wearing a plush pink robe showing off his shaved head except for the patch of hair on the top which was bleached blonde and braided into cornrows. The picture was most likely taken at a gym as a second picture showed him working out strenuously.
The second picture also contained graphics that read, "No. It's not @therock sorry for the confusion", an obvious reference to Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson who religiously posted pictures and videos of his extreme workout regime.
The 'Girls Like You' singer looked muscular as he sweated out in the gym pushing up not only his own weight but also the heavy chains placed on his back. Dressed in just athletic shorts and compression tights, without a shirt on his back, Adam repeated the exercise as he worked his way to fitness. By the end of the session, it was clear that the exercise was becoming taxing as he back turned bright red.
It was also clear that he had bleached his hair on Tuesday, especially since he stepped out on Monday with brunette cornrows in his Ferrari convertible.
Adam is married to Behati Prinsloo, a Namibian model who became a coveted Victoria's Secret Angel in 2009. Over the weekend, he shared a photo of her joining him at the protest walk for the Climate Strike rally holding a sign that said "More trees, less a**holes." He captioned the photo, "proud" followed by a heart emoji.
The two began dating in May 2012 and celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last month. They have two daughters: Dusty Rose and Gio Grace.
