Michael Rapaport, a vocal critic of the Donald Trump administration, attacked first lady Melania Trump over her public service announcement about the coronavirus pandemic where she insisted "we are all in this together."

In a disparaging tweet that he has since deleted, the 50-year-old 'True Romance' star called Melania a "dumb fkc" and a "dumb animal."

"Look at this DUMB FKC!!!" he wrote. "She thinks this is SEXXXY TIME? Dumb FKC! You dumb animal @FLOTUS MAGA!!!! Look at what you’ve done!!!"

The tirade was posted in response to a one-minute PSA that the First Lady, who had until then remained tight-lipped about the crisis, posted on her Twitter page and encouraged Americans to remain together during these difficult times.

Melania had also reassured the country that, while the current measures to stop the outbreak were drastic, "This is not how we'll live forever."

"Today I want to speak with you about coronavirus and what it means for you and your family," she had said. "While changes need to be made now, this is not how we’ll live forever. Our children will return to school, people will return to work, we will gather at the places of worship, concerts, and sporting events again."

"I urge you to stay connected to family and loved ones through video chats, phone calls, social media, and other safe technologies," she continued. "Stay safe. And remember while many of us are apart, we are all in this together."

The first lady had also thanked medical staff and doctors, nurses and the first responders for their work. "I want to take a moment to thank the medical staff, doctors, nurses & first responders who are working tirelessly to help keep our country healthy & safe," she had tweeted.

Rapaport's attack on Melania was not the first time he had taken aim at Trump and his family. A few months after the president took office, the actor had criticized the administration's response to climate change.

"Deviant Donald Trump. There’s no global warming, right?" he had tweeted. "Look at your ice skating rink, you f****** dummy. It’s 80 degrees in October, but there’s no global warming. F*** you, f*** your ice skating rink."

Rapaport had also accused Trump of harboring dreams of being a dictator over his plans to hold an independence day parade last year.

"Dick stain f*** let me tell you something on your stupid f****** independence day parade," he had said. "The only thing we want independence from is you, you f****** dog you. You wanna be a dictator you ain’t no dictator, you’re just a d***."

The US has the second-highest reported number of cases outside mainland China, and as the crisis has worsened, public events have all been canceled.

Melania called off the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, one of the biggest events for kids of the year, last week. "The health and safety of all Americans must be the first priority, especially right now," she said in an official statement.

"I deeply regret this cancellation, but we need to make difficult decisions in the short-term to ensure a healthy country for the long-term. During this time, I encourage everyone to listen to state and local officials, and follow CDC guidelines in order to help protect the health and well-being of everyone.”
