Singer Elle King had everyone surprised when she arrived at the 2021 ACM Awards heavily pregnant. The Grammy-nominated rocker and her fiancé  Dan Tooker are expecting their first child together.

"It's a really sweet thing because [Miranda's] done this kind of stuff a whole bunch of times, but it's a big deal for me," she explained it to People ahead of the award ceremony. "And to know that I could tell my kid one day I did that one cool thing and you were there — it's cool."

Even though Elle is enjoying this phase and cannot wait for the baby to arrive, her experience conceiving was not smooth-sailing. She struggled with fertility, PCOS, and suffered multiple miscarriages before getting pregnant with her first child.

"I've experienced loss and to go through that pain of losing two pregnancies, it just feels like life is over, life is done. You have to go through this intense and really just unbelievably draining and shocking grieving period. You feel like such a failure," Elle told the outlet and added: "Then when [you get pregnant again], you're so afraid to enjoy it and be happy because you're so scared that it's going to be taken away."

Elle and Dan got engaged in October 2020 and learned of the happy news two months later on Christmas. The same year, the couple completed a year of dating each other. "Today is our 1 year anniversary. We rode horses up a mountain to go gold panning. I had a ring in my pocket and I was going to toss it in the gold pan and propose to @tattooker ... but of course, my soulmate beat me to the punch and proposed to me the exact same way. So I immediately got down on my knee too. I love you Daniel. 1 year down, forever to go. I said Yes by the way and so did he," Elle posted on Instagram with an endearing photo of them looking at each other, smiling.

Who is Dan Tooker?

Elle's fiancé  is a tattoo artist, who specializes in traditional tattoos. He has worked at Studio XIII in Orlando, Florida, and the Riverside Tattoo company in Boston. Elle, as many have noticed, is a fan of the ink and one of her many designs is, not surprisingly, done by Dan. The one she has on her left arm is Dan's work of art.

According to Stars Offline, Dan has always been creative, which led him to his current profession. Since he knows the art form like the back of his hand, Dan has been able to earn impressive money over the years. As of 2020, his estimated net worth was $240,000.
