Who is AC Bonifacio? Filipina-Canadian dancer teases 'Riverdale' appearance and dance-off with Cheryl Blossom
The New Year has started out with a bang for Filipina-Canadian dancer, singer and video blogger, Andree Camille 'AC' Lapidario Bonifacio. On Saturday, January 2, 2021, she announced that she will be starring in the upcoming season of the hit CW show, 'Riverdale.' She posted a video of her dance-off with one of the series’ main characters, Cheryl Blossom, played by actress Madelaine Petsch, as a teaser for her appearance on the show, which went viral.
“Here's my page 1/365 submission. Starting off the year right with a little sneak peek to #Riverdale Season 5!,” Bonifacio wrote, as she reposted on Instagram the video uploaded by the show’s creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, this Saturday. She also posted the same one-minute-long video on Twitter with the caption, "guess what." Both Bonifacio as well as Blossom were seen doing a cheer dance showdown in the school gym.
Details of AC's character have yet to be announced but Aguirre-Sacasa wrote on his Instagram that new episodes of Riverdale resume on January 20, 2021. Many of the fans of the show were excited about the news of Bonifacio joining the cast and some of the former followers even said that they would start watching the show again just for her character.

I stopped watching Riverdale midway the third season bcoz I really don’t find the story flow interesting anymore, but a Filipina having a role in this series makes me wanna rewatch," one user said, while another commented, "OMFGGG!!! AC Bonifacio will appear on Riverdale season 5!!!" A third wrote, "FOR REAL!?!?WAHHH AC BONIFACIO WILL BE ON RIVERDALE S5!?!?!? AND SHE'S DANCING WITH CHERYL BLOSSOM."

Who is AC Bonifacio?
Bonifacio is an occasional actress who is best known for being the first-ever grand champion of the Filipino TV dance competition 'Dance Kids' along with Lucky Ancheta In 2016. The duo was called "Lucky Aces." Before winning the competition, the duo was featured on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' and had a chance to meet and perform with American pop star Ariana Grande on Grande's show in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2015.
Bonifacio also competed on the Kids edition of Philippine TV 'Show Your Face Sounds Familiar' (Season 1) where she finished in the third spot. She also made her acting debut on 'Wansapanataym Presents: The Amazing Ving' in which she played the character "Mika". She is also a member of the girl group Just A.S.K. together with Sheena Belarmino and Krystal Brimner. This is the first time Bonifacio, a Star Magic talent, will be appearing on a US series. In 2020, she made headlines for her dance covers of Blackpink songs, gaining recognition from the K-pop group themselves.
