Aaron Wallace's (Nicholas Pinnock) wrongful incarceration has put his family through a lot. While his wife Marie Wallace (Joy Bryant) had to start her life from scratch when he refused to take up the plea deal and went ahead with the trial, their daughter Jasmine Wallace (Tyla Harris) had to give up on her academics.

Similar to Aaron, his family is also seen fighting tooth and nail against the legal system to prove his innocence. Although Marie and Jasmine have never regretted their decision, their actions have led to unpleasant consequences.

In the previous episodes, Marie comes close to getting arrested herself when the District Attorney officials learn about her involvement in passing on a forged letter to support one of Aaron's legal representations.

As if Marie wasn't facing enough resistance from her lover and Aaron's best friend Darius Johnson (Brandon J Dirden), in the latest episode, her father pays a surprise visit only to convince her to stop getting involved in Aaron's legal issues. He even tells Darius that he never liked his son-in-law and gives him his wife's ring to propose to Marie.

Although Marie is determined to help Aaron, despite it causing a lot of trouble in her relationship with Darius, we can’t help but wonder if her efforts will bear any fruit. Also, she has a pregnant teenage daughter to take care of, who is as adamant as her mother to prove her father's innocence.

However, towards the end of the episode, Marie's father goes to prison to tell Aaron to stay away from his daughter.

With Aaron’s chances of freeing himself narrowing by each passing trail and his relationship with Marie on the verge of falling apart, will he still continue to pursue his wife to not go ahead with the divorce?

Also, Marie’s altered behavior could leave Darius with no choice but to give her an ultimatum. It remains to be seen if she will be able to choose between her love for Aaron and commitment towards Darius.

Furthermore, Marie has made it clear that she wouldn’t abandon Aaron even if he is guilty. Does that mean she would continue to fight for him even if they go ahead with the divorce?

'For Life' airs on Tuesdays on ABC.
