Aaron Sorkin dubbed ‘biggest f**king dweeb’ for his poll night end plot: ‘Don't think Trump will do right thing’
Aaron Sorkin's name popped up on Twitter as he was being brutally bashed by political commentators. A director, screenwriter and playwright who won the Academy Award for writing 'The Social Network', what could he have done to deserve that? Well, as it turns out, it was a quirky revelation on how he would pen down the United States Election 2020 to be held Tuesday, November 3, 2020, as President Donald Trump and Democratic rival Joe Biden try to outdo each other.
In an exclusive interview with Variety, he playfully ended the conversation by disclosing how he would write the 2020 election night. “Trump does what we all assume he will do, which is not concede defeat, claiming the election’s rigged and the Democrats cheated. For the first time, his Republican enablers march up to the White House and say Donald it’s time to go. I would write the ending where everyone does the right thing. I don’t think Trump will do the right thing, except by accident,” his account read. Popular for his trademark rapid-fire dialogue and extended monologues, he has been credited with Broadway plays like 'A Few Good Men' and 'To Kill a Mockingbird'; TV shows 'The West Wing', 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' and 'The Newsroom'; along with films like 'A Few Good Men', 'The American President' and 'Steve Jobs'.
No sooner was it posted on Twitter, it ruffled many feathers and people couldn't stop mocking him. "Aaron Sorkin is completely ignorant of American history. But he's not alone. So are most of the people who professionally write screenplays for Hollywood. That's a feature, not a bug," one said and another posted, "The biggest f**king dweeb on the planet. absolutely no contest." One went on to say: "Whispers:: Aaron Sorkin has always been terrible."
Slamming 'The West Wing', one Twitter user posted, "This man has always been in a fu**ing fantasy world. Republicans started doing this shit in earnest since Nixon," adding, "I mean the silly b*****d was writing 'The West Wing' after the 2000 election, a war based on lies, justifying torture, outing covert CIA agents and pardoning the White House flunkies who did it ... Aaron Sorkin is a man who deserves to never have money again, ever." Another Twitter user said, "It's legit insane how Aaron Sorkin has learned absolutely nothing, ever."

However, many came to his defense. "Hey I know that a lot of people may not know this but it's an option to just not interview Aaron Sorkin for political commentary in this moment," one tweet read. Another said, "I searched to figure out why people are talking about Aaron Sorkin, but then shrugged and decided I don't care." One went on to tweet: "Dems are more comfortable living inside one of Aaron Sorkin's fevered hallucinations of American political culture than in a reality where neo-fascists are on the precipice of seizing functional control of the supreme court and completely delegitimating the upcoming election."

Well, unleashing a political opinion at this heated time might not have been the right thing for Sorkin, don't you think so too?
