Aaron Hernandez's fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins, on Wednesday, said that she wishes the late NFL star-turned-killer had told her if he was secretly gay.

Jenkins, in an interview, insisted that she "would not have loved him any differently" if he had come out to her.

Aaron, the youngest National Football League player in 2010, was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2015 after he shot and killed Odin Lloyd, the boyfriend of his fiancee’s sister. Two years later, on April 19, 2017, Hernandez was found dead in his prison cell at the age of 27. He was serving a life sentence when he took his life by hanging himself.

Post his death, there were multiple speculations made about the NFL star's sexuality - the primary being that he was gay and feared his sexuality being outed.

Jenkins, while appearing on 'Good Morning America', said that the hardest part about watching the recently-released Netflix docu-series “Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez” was the speculation on Hernandez's sexuality.

She added that the former New England Patriots tight end seemed "certainly a man to me," however, she insisted that it would have been "beautiful" if he had admitted to any secret sexual feelings for men.

"If he did feel that way, or if he felt the urge, I wish that I was told,” an emotional Jenkins said. “And I wish that he would’ve told me ’cause I would not have loved him any differently. I would have understood. It’s not shameful and I don’t think anybody should be shameful of who they are inside, regardless of who they love."

"I think it’s a beautiful thing. I just wish I was able to tell him that,” she insisted.

Jenkins, however, believes that Netflix should not have brought Hernandez's sexuality in the documentary because the NFL star is no longer here to discuss it.

"You can’t describe someone’s sexuality without them being here,” Jenkins said on the morning show. "Although I have a child with Aaron, I still can’t tell you how he was feeling inside. No one can."

Hernandez, before his suicide, had written letters directed to Jenkins and their daughter Avielle, which were made public later. The NFL star called Jenkins his "angel" in the letter, adding that he always considered her his "soulmate".
