Aaron Carter screams at judge after ordered to surrender his gun collection for being 'too dangerous' to own them
When Aaron Carter was ordered by a judge in a Los Angeles court to surrender the firearms he owned during a hearing on Tuesday, November 19, regarding a restraining order filed by his twin sister Angel Conrad, he did not take the news well.
Angel sought the restraining order against Aaron, 31, in September, claiming that he had violent thoughts "towards babies and family members." Following the revelations, the "I'm All About You" singer's family members called police to his home as they "feared for their safety" and the authorities removed the assault rifles that were in his possession.
On Tuesday, Angel was granted the restraining order against her twin brother, which will be valid until November 19, 2020. While delivering his verdict, the judge told the former popstar that he will be required by law to surrender all the firearms he owned because he was "too dangerous" to own guns.
According to TMZ, Aaron started screaming at the judge and threatened to leave the proceedings after he was informed of the final decision. He also reportedly told the judge that he will simply go out of state and buy more firepower. He eventually sat down after being asked to calm down by the judge.
The court ruled that if Aaron refuses to surrender his gun collection, he will be sentenced to prison. He was also ordered to stay away from his sister and her family for a year. He was also ordered to refrain from accessing The Grove shopping center in Los Angeles where Angel's husband works, for the same duration of time.
Later in the day, he took to his Instagram Stories and confirmed that he will "abide by the judge's order." He added that he was "devastated by what happened in court today," and that his sister had "lied over and over in an effort to take away my 2nd Amendment rights."
"I am saddened by my family and what they have done to me. Your lies have broken my heart," he said.
