American rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has been arrested on drug and gun charges following an investigation into a New Jersey nightclub shooting. The Bronx rapper whose real name is Artist J Dubose was charged with one count of unlawful possession of a handgun and one count of possession of marijuana as reported by the website Complex.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office confirmed the news to XXL magazine that the arrest came after the authorities searched his home in Dearest, New Jersey on Monday, December 7, as part of an investigation into a recent shooting. During the search operation, detectives seized four guns including a Ruger .380 handgun, a Glock .40 caliber handgun, an H&K 9mm handgun, and a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, along with marijuana, hashish oil edibles and drug paraphernalia, as reported by the website Rap-Up.

The rapper was then taken into custody after the authorities questioned Boogie's manager, 27-year-old Samblou Camara and his security guard, 33-year-old Quashaun Hagler. The two were arrested as well. The arrest came a day after the rapper celebrated his 25th birthday. It's reported that a non-fatal incident took place outside Rain nightclub in Teaneck recently where the rapper was throwing his birthday party. However, all three men were released on their own recognizance, pending their appearances in court.

This is not the first time when the American rapper got involved in a legal soup. However, he was not directly involved in it. Back in September 2019, his management team faced charges after a member of his team was arrested for felony battery, as published by Hip-Hop Wired. A road manager for the rapper was caught on video throwing punches and struck at least two women with brutal blows. According to the website The Blast, the attack was caught on tape by a witness where an argument can be seen between Boogie’s road manager identified as Yasin Touray and several women in a hotel room. The report stated that the argument escalated to physical violence, and Touray could be seen throwing a haymaker punch at a woman. Luckily, A Boogie wit da Hoodie was not charged with any criminal offense.
