Rihanna will headline the half-time show at February's Super Bowl in Arizona, the NFL has announced

GLENDALE, ARIZONA: Popstar Rihanna has confirmed she will be headlining the 2023 Super Bowl half-time show in Arizona. The nine-time Grammy winner broke the internet after she announced her the big news on Sunday, September 25 by sharing a photo of her tattooed arm holding high an NFL-branded football. Ever since the news broke out Riri's fans and celebs are gushing over Rihanna's coming back after six years. 

The singer, who declined to perform in the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show out of solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, will headline the 2023 Super Bowl. The 57th Super Bowl will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Feb. 12. The NFL also tweeted the big announcement by sharing the same snap of Rihanna with the caption, "Let’s GO - @rihanna #SBLVII"

The Diamond star initially turned down the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl in 2019 because of the way Colin Kaepernick was treated and the show was eventually headlined by Maroon 5. The controversial former San Francisco 49ers quarterback refused to stand up for US national anthem to protest against police brutality and racial inequality. "I couldn't dare do that. For what?" Speaking of her decision Rihanna told Vogue in 2019. "Who gains from that? Not my people. I just couldn't be a sellout. I couldn't be an enabler. There are things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way," she said of the league. Hip Hop artist Jay Z announcing his excitement said in a press release, “Rihanna is a generational talent."

Now after the Fenty beauty mogul announced the big news, her fans continue to send her love as one wrote, "Imagine staying away from music for 6 years and announcing your comeback through Super Bowl??!!. Rihanna is my favorite superstar please." One of the fans shared her excitement by sharing all of the artist's hit song mashups and wrote, "rihanna is the IDEAL superbowl performer, the catalogue of hits is crazy."
