How does NBA Draft work?
NBA Draft comes with two rounds where each of the 30 NBA teams gets to pick per round. A total of 60 players have to be picked in every NBA Draft. The teams who failed to make the NBA Playoffs are given a little leverage as the 14 picks are chosen by the NBA Draft Lottery.
The remaining 16 players are then picked by the last regular season’s standings in the opposite order, ie the team with the best record last season will get to take the 30th pick and so on. In the second round too, NBA teams will choose the players in reverse order. Also, there is no lottery system in the second round.
