John Stamos, the beloved actor known for his role as Uncle Jesse in the iconic television series 'Full House', has recently released his memoir 'If You Would Have Told Me'. Bob Saget's death inspired John Stamos' memoir

The memoir opens with a deeply emotional tribute to Bob Saget, Stamos' dear friend and co-star, who inspired him to write the tell-all. "I never thought I'd write a book. It was the last thing on my mind. And, you know, they just kept asking. And then I was a father at 55. And then, you know, Bob Saget died. And so I thought, well, maybe I do have something to say. And so I started writing it. And as I was writing it, I discovered my story," he explains in the foreword.

John Stamos has had two nose jobs

Stamos candidly shares that he underwent not one, but two nose jobs. He recalls seeing himself on TV for the first time and only thinking, "My nose is beginning to detract from my performance." Unfortunately, the results of his first surgery left him unsatisfied Subsequently, he sought the expertise of none other than Michael Jackson's plastic surgeon. "Who better to handle the delicate task of resculpting my nose than the man who created a whole new face for M.J.?"

John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn haven't seen each other since their divorce

Stamos and Rebecca Romijn's whirlwind romance, which began after they met at a 'Full House' party, led to marriage in 1998. However, the pair ultimately separated in 2004. Stamos discloses that their separation happened privately almost a year before the official announcement in March 2003, and they have not crossed paths since the conclusion of their divorce mediation.

In a surprising revelation, Stamos discloses that his late co-star, Bob Saget, had feelings of envy regarding his on-screen connection with the Olsen twins and Dave Coulier. Stamos even expressed reservations about Saget's suitability for the role of the patriarch, Danny Tanner, due to his stand-up comedy background. He described Saget as "the humblest egomaniac I’ve ever met, but he undercuts his narcissism by being so damn lovable."

He opens up about his experience, saying, "I think I told myself, like, 'Ah, it's girls, man.' It was like you're playing dead so they'll stop. But it wasn't totally aggressive." Stamos confesses that he had always felt that something was wrong but he “packed it away as people do."

Despite finding the show appealing and daring, he ultimately declined the opportunity after his then-wife, Rebecca read the script and said, "'It’s demeaning to women,' she says dismissively. I think there’s more to the show, but we talk it out and I turn down ‘Nip/Tuck.'”

John Stamos' brush with Scientology

Stamos reflects on a brief encounter with the Church of Scientology in the 1980s, describing the organization's 'Celebrity Center' as "grand, ornate, and creepy as f–k." His account of an "auditing" session reveals the how the Scientology practitioner questioned him about "committing crimes, asks if I have negative thoughts about Scientology or L. Ron Hubbard and probes into some strange sex inquiries.” Then, Stamos, with his trademark humor, concluded that he wasn't "Scientology material."

The memoir takes a heartwarming turn as Stamos recounts his love story with his now-wife, Caitlin McHugh. The pair met on the set of 'Law & Order: SVU', and tied the knot in 2018. They now share a 5-year-old son, Billy Stamos.
