People tend to have warped images of their bodies, thanks to the pressure put by society to look a certain way. Today's beauty goals are almost unrealistic, and anything lesser than that is deemed unattractive. However, body positivity movements have helped many people be comfortable in their skin while learning how to love themselves. But it certainly is a process, as there is a lot of unlearning as well.

For the cast of '1000-lb Best Friends', their weight loss journey isn't the only thing that they are working towards, but they are also learning to love themselves in the process. It is easier for some, but others seem to be having a more challenging time with the concept than expected.

Meghan had a wish before her gastric sleeve surgery -- she wanted to go to the beach and walk on the sand. While she couldn't do this a few years ago, it was certainly an achievable goal after her surgery.

To make this dream come true, Vannessa, Ashely and Tina planned a girl's trip to Florida so they could all relax and spend some quality time together. However, the group quickly made some startling discoveries about Meghan's self-image and how she was drinking to avoid her problems.

Meghan was so conscious about her outfit during their night out that she got drunk. Her friends were worried about seeing her use alcohol to cope and tried to be supportive in general. In the preview episode, it looked like they finally planned a beach day, and even though this was something Meghan had dreamed of, she seemed closed off to the experience. She did not want to take her cover-up off and claimed that she looked like a grandma in her swimsuit.

At some point, Vannessa swooped in and encouraged her to make the most of her day and not worry about what people had to say. Vannessa, who wore a bikini to the beach, reminded Meghan that she also hated the roles she had on her body and wanted to make the most of their time out together. Meghan told her that even talking about her body gave her anxiety, but Vannessa was supportive and encouraged her to work through her issues and to stop holding her back from things she wanted to do.

Catch Season 1 of '1000-lb Best Friends' on TLC and Discovery+ on Mondays at 10 pm ET/PT.
