After starring in 1980's smash hit 'Urban Cowboy', John Travolta, 69, is back again with a cowboy look for the action thriller 'Mob Land'. In the latest film, he is playing a dashing police officer. John Travolta left school when he was 16 years old as he wanted to try his luck as an actor. However, he has played a high school jock in several movies, including the hit film 'Grease' (1978).

John Travolta is a licensed pilot

John Travolta is a licensed aviator and has the license to fly Boeing 707, 737 and 747 aircraft, per The Boeing Company. However, in 1992, Travolta experienced a pilot's nightmare as the plane carrying his family members and piloted by him, had to make an emergency landing in Washington D.C. due to an electrical failure.

I've been involved for 38 years, and I don't think I'd be here without it because I've had a lot of losses and different negative things that have happened over the years and it really got me through brilliantly."
