LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 'Unlocked: A Jail Experiment' inmate David Miller was removed from Eric Higgins' social program after being found in possession of a shank. Miller, an inmate housed in Pulaski County Detention Facility's H-unit, had encountered issues with fellow prisoners, prompting safety concerns.

The other inmates, particularly Randy 'True Story' Randall, harbored a grudge against David. Randall alleged that David had a reputation for provoking others with his careless words. True Story even had a conversation with one of his fellows leading to one of the Netflix show inmates punching David while he was in his cell.

Feeling threatened by his fellow inmates, David resorted to arming himself for self-protection. The Netflix docuseries prisoner took a comb and started using the locks of the cells to sharpen and file it, turning it into a makeshift weapon.

The entire process was captured on camera, prompting the Sheriff to take action. Concerned for the safety of other inmates, the Sheriff decided to remove David from the program.

The police officials broke into his cell and asked him to pack his stuff and leave with them. David was confused and asked, "What's going on here?" He added, "I'm gonna file a report. Because it's wrong. I'm here being harassed."

Did David Miller's shank end 'Unlocked: A Jail Experiment'?

David Miller's shank was a threat to the other inmates and the sheriff Eric Higgins decided to remove the inmate rather than shutting down the whole experiment. After the review of the CCTV footage, Sheriff Higgins said, "So we had an individual with a shank and so he need to be removed." He added, "But we felt this was a situation where it was an isolated incident... It's one person... We're still looking."

The Netflix show sheriff elaborated on his decision, "We're still observing and trying to evaluate their behaviour, but they've made some progress and we want to try to continue that progress." He further claimed, "I didn't wanna shut the whole unit and put them all on lockdown. I didn't see that this was necessary at this point."
