BUCKHEAD, ATLANTA: Atlanta police have arrested the man in connection with the death of Gainesville farmer Christopher Eberhart on Monday, October 17. The main suspect Travis Landrey escaped from the police armed with a gun. He was aiming to steal another car in his wild pursuit. This is when the 18-year-old crossed paths with the Gainesville farmer and murdered the man for transportation. "We believe he was walking around Buckhead somewhere in that same area with a firearm trying to obtain a new form of transportation. We believe he came upon Mr. Eberhart backed into a driveway on Peachtree Battle Avenue and that led confrontation led to the motor vehicle hijacking of Mr. Eberhart's GMC Sierra Pickup and his shooting death there at the scene," said Detective Leonpacher.

Investigators believe that Eberhart met Landrey at around 7 am in his GMC Sierra pickup truck before getting shot several times and left on the road. After getting released from the hospital at 9.30 am, Espree and Landrey reunited. They were found again in Eberhart's truck wheeling towards Interstate 65 southbound in Mobile County, Alabama. Police configure that the suspects were heading back to their home in Louisiana.

The pair were then and there arrested on the charge of stealing Eberhart's truck. Loaded with evidence in the stolen car, Landrey was charged with murder, hijacking a motor automobile, felony murder, and possession of a gun during the execution of a crime. Espree did not face such charges for being admitted to the hospital at the time of the crime. The duo started their journey after taking a Greyhound bus from Lafayette, Louisiana. After spending several days in Atlanta, the pair decided to head back home.

Currently, both are apprehended in Mobile County, Alabama.
