Police learned about the incident after they received a phone call regarding the shooting around 4.30 pm and found the scene of the crime to be "unsecured."

When police arrived at the scene, the house was unlocked, and during a welfare check, police discovered four people with gunshot wounds at different places in the same home. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Police suspect that the attack was a targeted domestic attack and thus the locality did not seem to be under any sort of threat. All the victims were adults and no children were said to have been hurt or present at the scene.

The police were able to catch the suspect shortly after a call around 6.45pm. The suspect is reported to have some connection with at least one of the residents of the house and thus the police suspect it to be a homicide case. The four people were living together in the house and were not exactly related to each other. The victims' identities have not been released by the police and their families are yet to be notified.

The house in Mansfield Court of Dale Boulevard in Prince William County has been surrounded by police as the investigation progresses. The neighbors of the four victims were said to be uneasy as they were trying to understand what had transpired. The county police had tweeted, "*INCIDENT: Shooting | Woodbridge - Officers are on scene of a shooting with injuries that occurred in the 5200 block of Mansfield Ct. in Woodbridge. Extent of injuries is unknown. Residents in the area can expect a heavy police presence as the investigation continues."

The case is ongoing and there will be further updates provided on the same as the police releases information. As of now the suspect's identity or the motive is unknown.
