NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The View's typically liberal hosts have heavily criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after the release of the trailer for their controversial Netflix documentary on December 1, on the second day of William and Kate's US tour. The pair came under fire from Joy Behar and Ana Navarro during a roundtable discussion over the Sussexes' shocking move this week.

Behar claimed that the video had been dropped on purpose to conflict with the couple's trip to Boston, and Navarro expressed how she was 'sick at the sight' of them cry. Behar, a longstanding liberal, expected to embrace the pair, also cast doubt on Meghan's dramatic claims that a mysterious royal had expressed "concerns" about the color of her unborn baby Archie's skin. Behar asked, "Has anyone else actually been shown to have been racist? It seems hearsay," after Sunny Hostin brought up the matter.

As per Daily Mail, Hostin reiterated Meghan's assertion, which she had stated in an Oprah interview in 2021. Behar, though, expressed his scepticism and asked, "And who did they think said that?" Navaro also expressed negative views, about the trailer for the couple's upcoming show, saying, "I just wish that every time I saw Meghan and Harry they weren't crying and wiping away tears."

The six-part series, which is being hailed as a window into the couple's love, troubles, and existence, does not seem to have spared the royal institution from harsh criticism. The teaser's timing, which made no mention of a release date, drew criticism for attempting to overshadow William and Kate's visit.

"So, do you make anything of this release? Do you think it was deliberate?" Behar asked. The Sussexes appeared to receive some credit from co-host Sunny Hostin, who claimed that they probably had no control over when the trailer would air. "I didn't realize they had that much power within Netflix, that they could say, 'We're gonna drop it now because my brother and his, you know, his wife are coming to the states,'' Hostin began. "Don't you think Netflix made the decision rather than them?" Behar then suggested.

The conversation was then picked up by Navarro, who begged the couple to hold back their tears after learning that Meghan would reportedly be seen crying several times in the upcoming program. She also commented on the marketing genius of the couple. "First of all, I think Netflix is great at marketing and I think Harry and Meghan are great at marketing themselves. They have done — they've now earned tens and tens of millions of dollars out of their story, which they have been telling, it seems to me, for years now, and they're very good at it," Navarro stated.

Griffin quickly changed the topic to accusations of racism by members of the royal family. "I do think that, Princess, or Duchess at this point, Meghan told you exactly what was happening within the royal family. She told everybody that there was racism. She told everyone that she was the target of death threats and racism repeatedly, that the family refused to protect her."

"The Firm" was again accused of 'institutional racism' after Susan Hussey, the late queen's lady-in-waiting, reportedly 'interrogated' a prominent Black British activist, Ngozi Fulani, about where she "really came from" after touching her hair locks without permission during an event hosted by the Queen Consort Camilla. Hussey subsequently resigned and issued an apology after her comments were deemed "unacceptable and deeply regrettable" by Buckingham Palace.
