LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Boys' Season 4 has finally arrived, continuing Prime Video's hit superhero series. The new season picks up immediately after the events of Season 3, where the team is focused on thwarting Victoria Neuman's rise to Vice President, and Butcher is plotting against Homelander to protect Ryan.

Meanwhile, Frenchie, a key member of the anti-supe group, has his own subplot. However, this storyline feels repetitive as it mirrors past seasons.

Throughout 'The Boys', Frenchie's character development seems stuck in a loop. 'The Boys' Season 4 is now the third instance where his storyline feels like a repetition of previous arcs.

Frenchie, a significant figure in the titular team battling superhumans, finds himself caught in a narrative cycle that fails to offer fresh perspectives.

As 'The Boys' Season 4 unfolds, viewers are diving into familiar territory with Frenchie's storyline, underscoring a challenge for the series in evolving its characters beyond established patterns.

This is the third time we're seeing Frenchie face demons from his past and we're tired

In 'The Boys' Season 4, Frenchie finds himself at the center of yet another storyline that echoes themes seen in previous seasons. This time, his narrative revolves around his romantic involvement with Colin, an employee at the Starlight House.

Frenchie grapples with his emotions and the complexities arising from his relationship with Kimiko. However, there's a dark twist: Colin remains unaware that Frenchie is the one responsible for murdering his family years ago.

This isn't the first time 'The Boys' has explored Frenchie harboring a dark secret from his past. Similar arcs have unfolded in earlier seasons. Initially, Frenchie dealt with guilt over abandoning his post, which indirectly led to tragic consequences involving Lamplighter and Grace Mallory's family.

Later, a comparable storyline emerged when Frenchie's ties to the Russian mob resurfaced through Little Nina, exposing his past as an assassin.

As 'The Boys' Season 4 progresses, Frenchie's latest storyline underscores the series' challenge in evolving his character beyond recurring themes and narrative patterns.

How can 'The Boys' move beyond Frenchie's repetitive storylines?

'The Boys' Season 4 needs to move past the repetitive stories about Frenchie's troubled past, as they've become less interesting. This storyline should be resolved early in season 4 because it might not hold viewer interest for the whole season.

If 'The Boys' Season 5 repeats this storyline, it could be a problem. Season 4 should avoid this by resolving Frenchie's past quickly.

The best way forward is for Frenchie to tell Colin his secret and seek forgiveness. If Colin agrees to stay with Frenchie on the condition of honesty, all potential dark secrets will be revealed by the end of Season 4.

This solution could prevent the storyline from coming up again in future seasons and let Frenchie develop as a character.
