WASHINGTON DC, WASHINGTON: First lady Jill Biden in her latest interview has settled many questions and hinted at some. Answering the hot issue of an ongoing investigation against her son Hunter Biden, the 71-year-old mother was quick to defend him. “Everybody and their brother has investigated Hunter. They keep at it, and at it, and at it. I know that Hunter is innocent. I love my son, and I will keep looking forward,” she said in an interview with NBC News.

Hunter Biden has admitted his past troubles with drug addiction, but now he faces scrutiny over business dealings with China and Ukraine when his father Joe Biden was serving as Vice President. The charges he may face are tax evasion and the illegal purchase of a gun with the help of a false statement. Hunter has always claimed there was no wrongdoing, while House Republicans claim they will investigate him once they take control of the chamber in the November midterm elections.

On the constant attack by Trump on Biden, the first lady said, “I don’t pay attention because I just don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to hear all the ugliness.” Jill Biden also indirectly hinted that Joe Biden may run for re-election in 2024, however, neither the incumbent President, not Trump had made an official statement confirming they will be running for office. “He understands government better than anybody else,” she claimed.

Biden turns 80 next month and was the oldest president to take office in 2020, with many questioning his age and health condition. “You’ve got to let it just slide off. You can’t take it personally,” the first lady brushed aside such politically charged attacks.

It is likely that after the November election, Joe Biden will take a call on the 2024 elections. Meanwhile, Jill Biden tries to ensure her husband’s presidency remains on track and successful. “I’m trying to elect Democrats,” she said during Wednesday, October 19 interview with NBC. She added, “We’ve got to keep the majority. We’ve got to do it.”

Daily Mail report suggests as per Biden officials Jill Biden is a highly-requested surrogate, “The First Lady is one of the most requested surrogates and there are many requests for her to campaign this fall in competitive states across the country.”

The source added, “She will continue to stay engaged through the midterms and will carry a message of optimism and hope, focusing on the accomplishments of her husband’s administration. ‘Joe is delivering results’ will be a frequent message from her on the stump, name checking his achievements, and calling on voters to imagine what more he could do with larger majorities in Congress.”
