'No one f***s with a Biden': Dark Brandon trends again as Joe Biden lets it rip in Florida
FORT MYERS, FLORIDA: President Joe Biden was caught on a hot mic saying "no one f***s with a Biden" during a trip to Fort Myers, Florida, on October 5, when he put on a show of unity with Ron DeSantis, whom he referred to as "guv," He spoke alongside Florida's GOP governor after assessing Hurricane Ian's damage, setting aside their personal animosity for the day and shaking hands. Following the president’s comments, the Dark Brandon memes went viral once again.
A microphone captured Biden telling the phrase to Fort Myers Mayor Ray Murphy after his comments that "you can't argue with your brothers outside the house." Murphy thanked the president for visiting his damaged community and told Biden he was "Goddamn right" to say "no one f**ks" with him, but the context of the exchange was not immediately clear. “We're both Irish Catholics. We're both devout Catholics. But every once and a while a little salty language comes out,” Murphy later told NBC News, not spilling exactly what was being discussed.

In a public show of support on Wednesday, October 5, first ladies Jill Biden of the United States and Casey DeSantis of Florida joined their husbands. The Florida couple welcomed the Bidens as they exited their motorcade to hear a briefing from state and local officials on what is required to properly recover from the destruction caused by the Category 4 storm which claimed more than 100 lives and caused hundreds of thousands of others to be displaced. After many phone conversations, including one just before the Hurricane Ian made landfall, Biden and DeSantis had their first in-person meeting to put their relationship for disaster recovery to the test. With a few subtle jabs, including one on climate change, Biden and DeSantis managed to get through their statements without making any overt digs at the other side.
The president and DeSantis became practically friends at one point, with the president calling DeSantis "guv" as he spoke on the podium to praise how well the two of them cooperated to deal with the storm's destruction despite regularly insulting one another. Additionally, he applauded the Florida mayor for his efforts to understand and address climate change, saying the “biggest thing he's done” is “recognized this thing called global warming.” Biden even said at one point, in reference to DeSantis: “I think he's done a good job. We have a very different political philosophy,” he added, “but we've worked hand-in-glove.”
In reaction to this incident, the Dark Brandon meme on Twitter rose to popularity once again. The meme originally formulated to troll the president has been now taken over by the supporters of Biden. One of the users on Twitter highlighted the moment by saying, “a Dark Brandon moment." Another one added, ""'You’re goddamn right,' Murphy chuckled in response as he took off his sunglasses during the brief discussion with Biden."
One user expressed, "Right wing snowflakes triggered by Dark Brandon."Another one wrote; "#WokeRon now believes in climate change and government handouts. That #DarkBrandon works miracles. #RemoveRon #WorstGovernorEver #DeSantisDestroysFlorida #DarkBrandonRises #ThankYouPresidentBiden" One clarified, "#DarkBrandon rises yet again."
