WASHINGTON DC, WASHINGTON: Amid recent reports on the first lady, Jill Biden wanting aides to call off Joe Biden’s January press conference mid-session, Republicans have slammed the office and called her a "babysitter" for the President. According to The New York Times report, the first lady wanted someone to step in and stop husband Joe Biden’s nearly two-hour solo press conference in January 2022.

Republicans didn’t leave any stone unturned to attack the leadership with several GOP lawmakers quickly jumping in to react. Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee said, “It’s just further apparent proof that Biden is not in control of the White House or his staff.” Georgia Representative Austin Scott said in a statement to the Fox News network, “Apparently the First Lady knows a train wreck when she sees one.” He added, “I think everyone in the White House is concerned that the President will accidentally reveal the Biden-Harris administration's true agenda,” as per Daily Mail.

House GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, who many consider to be the No. 3 ranking Republican, lashed out saying, “President of the United States should not need a babysitter when he talks to the media.” “Apparently Joe Biden does,” she added while responding to Fox News.

The report claimed that the 71-year-old first lady is "directly" involved with the communications office and senior staff "when they fail to protect" Biden. “She is incredibly protective of Mr. Biden, and has been involved in the hiring of his press staff and other senior aides,” the article points out. Rebulican New Jersey Representative Jeff Van Drew, who was previously a Democrat reacted, “The American people put Joe Biden in office and deserve to hear directly from the president himself. Our country does not operate under surrogates in chief.”

According to the report, Ronny Jackson, a former physician at the White House, who had served previous US Presidents was blunt in his attack, “Bravo to the staffer who exposed Joe Biden by confirming that he isn't the one calling the shots in the White House.” He further said to Fox News, “We all know Joe Biden isn't capable of making his own decisions and needs constant supervision. This administration has practically turned the White House into an assisted-living facility.”

Jackson kept on to his scathing attack on the President's Office, “As a physician to three U.S. presidents, I know firsthand what it takes, both mentally and physically, to perform the most demanding job in the world. America and its allies cannot continue to have a cognitively impaired puppet as our commander in chief and the leader of the free world.”

In the run-up to the 2022 midterm elections, Jill Biden has emerged as one of her husband's most effective campaign surrogates. His approval rating is currently in the low 40s, and there are growing concerns about his physical and mental fitness for office due to an increase in gaffes.
