'Young Sheldon' Season 4: Sheldon and Amy's future is revealed, fans ask why it wasn't on 'The Big Bang Theory'

Who would have thought that the seemingly asexual Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) on 'The Big Bang Theory' would later have a full-fledged relationship, get married and have kids? The last part we didn't know, and it came as a wholesome reveal on 'Young Sheldon', the spinoff series to the mother ship. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that Sheldon named his child Leonard Nimoy Cooper.

Moreover, we got to hear Mayim Bialik's voiceover as Amy telling him to be grateful that she allowed him to name their kid Leonard in the first place. Fans were overtly grateful and joyous to hear Amy, but were rather upset that this life event was not on 'The Big Bang Theory'. Instead, on TBBT, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) gets pregnant.

"SPOILERS: I screamed so loud hearing @missmayim as Amy tonight. Dr Amy Farrah Fowler is a character I strongly relate to and I legit almost burst into happy tears between the name reveal and her voice #YoungSheldon," another wrote.

"Great episode & this part was so awesome! The part at the end w/Sheldon & Amy & the name of their future son was such an amazing touch too. Love this show & so happy to have it back. #YoungSheldon," a fan tweeted. "Sheldon has a son with Amy in the future? Wish we saw them as parents in Big Bang but glad to know they had at least one child. I bet they were great parents and Leonard was a great son @YoungSheldon#YoungSheldon," another tweeted.

The episode focussed on the boy genius heading to college or rather preparing for it. He has a meltdown on hearing the news because he realises that he is just scared about what the future holds.

'Young Sheldon' airs on CBS on Thursdays at 8 pm.
