It's no secret that the beauty and self-care industry is a multi-billion dollar one. The key to surviving this cutthroat industry is originality, inclusivity and finding a particular audience to cater to. And, Young King Hair Care seems to have all these three in the bag. Aimed to help Black and brown men with self-care, Young King Hair Care is all about positive representation.

While Young King Hair Care already has a dedicated fan-following, will the brand be able to impress Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Daymond John, Kevin O'Leary and Robert Herjavec? Let's find out.

What is Young King Hair Care?

Young King Hair Care is a brand that focuses on creating unique hair care products for boys and men, allowing them to indulge in self-care. The brand focuses on the positive representation of Black and brown men in the beauty industry.

The brand says, on its website, it aims to shake up the beauty industry by redefining male grooming. "Simply put, we're here for Black and Brown young men who strive to be authentically themselves, from their classrooms to their communities and everywhere in between. We're here to shake up the beauty industry by redefining male grooming for the next generation of multicultural men, giving them the confidence needed to be their best selves 24/7/365. And more importantly, we're here to change the narrative of how the world sees young men of color – young kings represented as unapologetic, dynamic and expressive with confidence and swag."

Who are the founders?

Cora and Stefan Miller are the founders of Young King. Stefan was previously the director of marketing, for Red Bull for North America. Prior to that, he was the Senior Brand Manager for Sprite. Cora, on the other hand, has held multiple roles at UnitedHealth Group, where she served as vice president of external affairs. She was also the senior program manager. Young King Hair Care was born after Cora and Stefan became parents.

"As first-time parents to a beautiful brown baby boy named Kade who had a head full of hair, we were surprised to discover that there were no clean, natural hair care products specifically designed for curly-headed young men." they mentioned on the website. "We realized there was an unfulfilled need and opportunity to reshape the beauty industry, which has traditionally focused on women and girls, by creating unique offerings for our son and young men who looked like him. We believe representation is critically important -- so inspired by Kade, in December 2019 we launched Young King Hair Care." they added.

What is the cost and where to buy?

You can purchase the Complete Hair Care bundle, which includes an 8oz shampoo, 8oz conditioner, 8oz leave-in conditioner, 4oz essential oils 8oz curling cream, 8oz mousse and 8oz pomade, all for $88 on the brand's website. You can also purchase these products individually, depending on your requirements.

Where is Young King Hair Care now?

By the looks of the brand's Instagram, Young King Hair Care has been making waves — the products are now available in retail stores like Target.

"You have a GOOD excuse to visit Target today...Because ALL of Young King's products are officially at Target. And we're here for it! Convenience is at the TOP of our list when serving you. Now, run - don't walk to your nearest Target!" posted the brand. Other than this, they have been reviewing extremely well with customers too.

One customer, Shanna Sylvain, wrote: "Wash Day for my Young King has become sooooo much easier! I can detangle my son's hair without him cutting up, and his hair is super soft and much less of a stress to deal with. I tried everything that I use in my hair plus stuff I'd never pay more money for to put in my hair (lol). I came across these products and I honestly love them for both of our haircare needs. Thank you Young King Hair Care!". Another customer, Jessica E., also detailed her experience: "These products make such a difference in my son's hair! He loves the process and that it's "just for him." I am so glad this has him feeling confident, smelling amazing, and taking charge of the way he goes out into the world."

Who will steal the deal?

Seeing that most Shark often steer clear from self-care products, its hard to say who might take the bait. However, there is a good chance Lori Grenier might be the one to make them an offer, depending on their numbers.
