There’s a lot of tension brewing up on ‘Yellowstone’ Season 4 and fans cannot wait to see John Dutton (Kevin Costner) finally meeting the man who ordered the attacks on him and his entire family. The makers have been teasing us by dropping clues since the beginning of Season 4, but everything changed in Episode 3 when Chief Rainwater’s (Gil Birmingham) personal assistant and driver Mo (Moses Brings Plenty) tells John about the man who carried out the strike.

However, they didn’t know who gave him the orders to target the Dutton Family. The man in the question is Riggins, a hitman who assembles a team to target people in exchange for money. In one of the earlier episodes, Kayce (Luke Grimes) met Jaime (Wes Bentley) to ask for his assistance in the case, to which, he replies that he will of course help him and John. But everything turned upside down when Jaime found out the truth behind the attacks and was furious to know that someone he knew wanted the Dutton Family dead. So, who’s behind the attacks?

'Yellowstone' Season 4 Episode 2: Is Jamie behind the assassination? Beth thinks so

The man behind the assassination of the Duttons is none other than Jaime’s biological father Garrett Randall (Will Patton). Jaime gets to know this while looking at one of the files from the Bureau of Prison. In Episode 5, we see Jaime calling the State Prison to talk to the lawyer of Riggins. He wants to know the truth and strikes a deal with his lawyers. Jaime offers full immunity to Riggins if he tells the name of the person who hired him to kill the Duttons. Apart from full immunity, he would also be shifted to a prison that has medium security.

Riggins and his lawyer are satisfied and he tells Jaime to ask him anything. He shows Riggins a photo of Garrett and asks him if he gave him the orders to attack the Dutton Family. The scene abruptly cuts before Riggings could say anything, but what happened next confirms that it was Garrett who did all of that. Jaime reaches Garrett’s house and confronts him for attacking the Dutton, but he is stopped in his tracks when Jaime sees his wife and kid standing behind Garrett.

The conversation ends there but it seems Jaime won’t stop before getting the truth out of Garrett’s mouth. One way or the other Garrett would have to face the wrath of Jaime and he might even team up with the Duttons to teach him a lesson. However, it’ll be interesting to see how John or other Duttons will get to know about Garrett’s involvement because it might make things a bit difficult for Jamie as they would believe that he was also involved in the plan.

So, the cat is finally out of the bag and we know who tried killing the Duttons. Will there be any twist in the tale? Or Garrett’s going to face the heat for what he did? We cannot wait to get answers to these burning questions.

‘Yellowstone’ Season 4 returns to Paramount with a new episode every Sunday at 8 pm EST.
