'It gave me the push': Woman leaves husband for lover after asking AI for advice
LONDON, ENGLAND: The decision to divorce is never simple, but one South London woman thought she had discovered the ideal strategy for deciding what to do next. In a contentious move, "Sarah" used AI to decide whether or not to divorce her husband after having an affair with a man she met online for six months.
The 37-year-old, who works in the tech industry, used Chat GPT, an AI tool that has gained immense popularity, to better understand why she started an affair with the lover she met on the website Illicit Encounters. She had to choose between trying to fix things at home or leave her husband of five years for her lover when the issues in her marriage between unbearable between Christmas and New Year.

End like a 'fairytale'
Sarah said that she asked the tool to advise her on how the affair should end like a "fairytale" and what she should do. She said the answer left her "shaking." As per the Mirror, she said, "I essentially asked the app to write me a story based on my current situation, and what the person in the story should do in a failing marriage while experiencing the excitement of the affair I've been having."
She continued, "What's fascinating was how it picked up so well on my dilemma and even considered my own happiness. The end of the story told me I should put my happiness first and leave my husband, which I've now done." She further added, "For the normal person using Chat:GPT for the first time, it will be an eery experience with the sort of output it is capable of."
'It gave me the push'
Sarah, who is now living with her lover, continued, "It gave me the push I needed to make the jump and leave a relationship that had been in the doldrums for a long time. It's certainly unorthodox, and not something I'd insist other women in similar situations to try. It was more of a case that I'd been around this technology, and it worked for me," as reported by the Mirror.
As people experiment with using Chat GPT to compose poems, songs, work emails, and other types of writing, it has become a craze. Universities have created regulations in response to the app's outstanding capabilities to prevent students from cheating, while people have used it to send romantic messages to possible partners online.
