Is Julia Wandelt a victim of abuse?
Wandelt explained various abuse she has faced in her life. The 21-year-old explains the emotional abuse she has been through while talking about her parents. She said, “I was never angry (at) them; I always loved them because I was always with them,” she said. “I think for the first time I started to ask myself, why (my) family (who) raised me, why they tried to destroy (me)…. I always tried to understand it, OK, it’s your family, ok, they want to help you, they want to do everything to help you, but it’s not the truth. They don’t want to help me," as per Radar Online. Wandelt claims she was called "crazy" and "delusional" by the woman she was raised by. Wandelt had revealed that she suffered sexual abuse in her younger years at the hands of a man her family knew of. She has also experienced cyberbullying in recent times. Wandelt was taken to the US by Johansson after she received death threats online. The California-based private detective said Wandelt felt terrified" and "unsafe" after receiving the messages, which included disturbing sexual comments from haters.

Johansson said to The Sun, "The haters have been attacking Julia since she came forward. The situation in Poland is she has nobody. Her family won't talk to her." Johnasson also added, "Julia has never said, 'I am Madeleine McCann'. She has lots of questions about her past and she asked for help. We are open to all possibilities," she said. "Having spent time with Julia and investigating this I do not think she is lying or making things up for followers, everything she says appears to be real. "She says she was abused as a child and we have found evidence in court that she was abused between 2011 and 2012." Wandelt is currently awaiting her DNA results to know if she is actually McCann.
