LOS ANGELS, CALIFORNIA: The magnificent voyage of human emotions on Amazon Prime Video, 'Expats,' has finally reached its destination, with fans asking whether there would be another season of the series, and unfortunately, the answer is no, at least for the time being.

The series, directed by Lulu Wang, boasts a profoundly emotional narrative of human fellowship, centered on three lives: Margaret Woo (Nicole Kidman), Hilary Starr (Sarayu Blue), and Mercy Cho (Ji-young Yoo), whose lives are drastically altered as a result of an awful tragedy.

Will there be 'Expats' season 2?

Originally intended to be a miniseries, the show is based on Janice Y. K. Lee's novel 'The Expatriates.' Throughout the show, most characters find some form of resolution by the conclusion.

Furthermore, the series is unlikely to have a sequel since the contents of its source material have already been addressed in the series' six-episode run time.

Additionally, there is no official confirmation from Amazon Prime Video or any of the actors involved in the miniseries.

However, this does not rule out the possibility of a second season.

The critical acclaim, popularity, and fan adoration for the series could potentially pave the way for a sequel, even if it wasn't initially anticipated at the start of the arrangement.

What could be the plotlines for 'Expats' season 2?

If the creators opt for a second installment, it would be intriguing to witness the follow-up and further developments in the characters' lives after the resolutions achieved in the initial series.

As the characters start a new chapter in their lives, the plot may explore their journeys and how the aftermath of the decisions they made in Season 1.

A splash of societal concerns, such as the nuanced interaction between housekeepers and the establishments they work for, were also present in the first season, which could be further explored in the sequel.

It would also be intriguing to witness Puri's (Amelyn Pardenilla) and Hillary's heartwarming friendship once again, and the second season may also unfold the mystery behind Gus' (Connor James) disappearance, providing the Woo family some closure.
