HONG KONG, CHINA: Following the dazzling popularity of its first four episodes, Lulu Wang's directorial series is moving forward with an intricate portrayal of the political movements in Hong Kong.

Amazon Prime Video's ongoing series 'Expats' delves into the lives of three different women whose lives are intertwined because of a single unfortunate incident that leaves scars too deep to heal.

In the last episode, it was established that Clarke Woo (Brian Tee) wishes to return to the United States, whereas Margaret Woo (Nicole Kidman) is unsure due to her belief that she will find her son, Gus (Connor James) in Hong Kong.

After returning home with her children, Daisy Woo (Tiana Gowen) and Philip Woo (Bodhi del Rosario), Margaret is taken aback to discover Pastor Alan Mambo (Blessing Mokgohloa) there.

She immediately lets Alan know that her family isn't religious enough to welcome a pastor, leaving Clarke embarrassed. He graciously requests that Alan leave his home.

Alan, who tries to appease Margaret about Gus' disappearance, is left speechless by Margaret's hostility towards him.

Alan had no choice but to spend the night with the Woo family due to the severe storm. Margaret mentioned that she prayed as soon as Gus vanished because she felt it would give her hope, but her prayers were never heard.

Seeing Margaret's taunts directed towards Alan, an annoyed Clarke intervenes and the couple indulges in a heated argument. Clarke brought up the subject of moving to America once more.

He asserted that Daisy and Philip are suffering greatly as a result of her stubbornness; however, Margaret again brushes this off, as she is still holding out hope that she will find Gus.

Later, Daisy and Philip were deeply immersed in Alan's religious musings when they suddenly asked Alan whether God was aware of Gus.

Margaret attempted to diffuse the situation after being perplexed by their abrupt questions, but she was taken aback when Philip said he knew Gus was with God.

Upon realizing that her childre were in emotional turmoil owing to Gus' disappearance, Margaret decides to return to America for their sake.

'Expats' is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.
