MANCHESTER, ENGLAND: Before the highly anticipated influencer boxing match between KSI and Tommy Fury, the YouTuber engaged in a candid interview discussing potential MMA opponents.

KSI, who eventually lost the boxing bout to Tommy Fury, shared his thoughts on who he would prefer to face in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA).

KSI explores MMA opponent choices

However, a recent interview took an unexpected turn when both KSI and Tommy Fury were asked about their ideal opponents in the realm of MMA. The interviewer presented a range of potential foes, including the likes of retired lightweight legend Khabib Nurmagomedov and reigning UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

However, it was a particular question that caught the attention of fans and enthusiasts. When they were asked to choose between two prominent figures in the MMA world, Joe Rogan or Dana White, KSI's response was swift and clear:

"We'll go with Dana then. Joe Rogan's kicks are a bit deadly."

Joe Rogan, renowned for his role as a UFC color commentator, is not only a Taekwondo black belt but also an amateur kickboxer.

He had once contemplated a professional kickboxing career before transitioning into commentating. Joe Rogan's powerful kicks are well-documented, making him a formidable adversary even outside the professional fighting sphere.

In contrast, Dana White, the UFC CEO, brings his extensive boxing background to the potential matchup. This choice may be more appealing to another boxer looking to make the transition into the world of MMA.

Tommy Fury secures majority decision victory over KSI

In a highly anticipated six-round cruiserweight bout, Tommy Fury emerged victorious over KSI by a majority decision. The judges' scores read 57-56, 57-56, and 57-57, reflecting the closely contested nature of the bout.

Following the fight, Tommy Fury expressed his feelings, stating, "I fought my absolute heart out, and that's all I could do." His relentless effort in the ring was evident as he battled to secure the win.

However, KSI, the defeated fighter, had a different perspective. He voiced his dissatisfaction with the decision, claiming, "Robbery. That's a robbery, bro." KSI's frustration was palpable, as he believed that the outcome did not accurately represent the fight's dynamics.

Round-by-round recap

Round 1: The opening round resembled a wrestling match at times, but both fighters displayed an eagerness to exchange punches. KSI landed a straight right, showcasing his speed against Tommy Fury's size advantage. The clinches, however, didn't deter the action, as punches continued to be fired. KSI held a narrow lead at 10-9.

Round 2: Tommy Fury started this round with a right hander. Nevertheless, his progress was interrupted by a point deduction as he appeared to strike KSI in the back of the head. KSI relentlessly attacked Fury's body while eluding his opponent's punches. The fighters ended up in another clinch. KSI maintained a 20-17 lead.

Round 3: In the third round, KSI's elusive movements made it challenging for Tommy Fury to land clean and impactful punches. Despite his power, Fury couldn't channel it effectively. However, he found success by leaning on KSI and utilizing his weight advantage. KSI threw a wild right but missed, and they found themselves in a clinch once more. KSI led 29-27.

Round 4: The fighters remained closely tied up but continued throwing punches. Both displayed their determination and will to fight. However, Fury struggled to find the target, as KSI proved to be too elusive. The round ended with both fighters tangled up. KSI held a 38-37 lead.

Round 5: The fifth round witnessed the fighters wrapping each other up and engaging in close-quarters combat. Fatigue was setting in, leading to frequent clinches. Tommy Fury's inability to create the necessary distance frustrated his chances to connect with effective punches. The round ended with them once again in a clinch, with the score level at 47-47.

Round 6: The final round was a must-win for both fighters. Tommy Fury landed a solid right but was wrapped up by KSI. They engaged in another clinch. KSI appeared to show more aggression in the latter part of the round. The fight concluded with a narrow score of 57-56 in favor of Tommy Fury.
