Why did Sutton apologize to Erika? Irked 'RHOBH' fans say 'gaslighting is real'

Erika Jayne has really been milking her 'ice-queen' persona pretty well on the ongoing Season 11 of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'. After finding herself tangled in her disgraced former attorney husband Tom Girardi's money embezzlement drama, the housewife was expecting all her co-stars to extend their unconditional support and trust towards her.

All the housewives aside from Sutton Stracke and Garcelle Beauvais blindly extended their support to the housewife. Suttin didn't want her reputation and image to be tarnished by being associated with Erika, so the housewife decided to distance herself from Erika and her drama. However, considering all these ladies run in same circles, Sutton couldn't completely avoid Erika. So the new housewife decided to confront Erika and asked her some hard-hitting questions like if she knew about Tom's financial dealings or if she played a role in embezzling the money. Although the fans were happy to see at least one of the housewives standing up to Erika and asking her what's been running on all our minds, Erika wasn't pleased with it.

Erika retaliated by openly threatening and bullying Sutton. Despite Erika behaving extremely badly towards Sutton, the new housewife decided to mend things between them. So during the season finale, Sutton not only apologized to Erika but also hoped that they could put their differences aside and become friends again. Sutton revealed that she felt like she may have over-reacted by questioning Erika earlier and felt sad about losing her friend to it. So she extended a heartfelt apology to Erika and assured her that everybody wanted to see Erika come out of the whole fiasco unscathed.

Erika reluctantly acknowledged Sutton's apology but said she needed more time to rekindle their friendship. 'RHOBH' fans were shocked and disgusted on watching Sutton apologize to her bully and began wondering why she was even doing it in the first place. A fan tweeted, "Why does Sutton have to constantly apologize when Erika is the lying criminal, the only one that should be apologizing is Erika #RHOBH." Another fan wrote, "Why is Sutton continuing to apologize to Erika? Like I don't get it. #RHOBH." "The gaslighting is REAL. Sutton has to apologize to a woman who had her lifestyle funded by widows, orphans; & burn survivors. #RHOBH," commented a fan.

Another fan shared, "I don’t want Sutton to apologize ANYMORE to Erika. She’s a nobody. She’s broke. She’s dragging this “Ice Queen” persona out to no end. She deserves every bit of the energy she puts out. Sutton stop apologizing for trying. #RHOBH." "Sutton doesn’t owe Erika a thing. Another fan echoed similar thoughts with, "Sutton, let this be the last time you apologize chile. Im over it #RHOBH."
