Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ is into its 23rd season and has been treating fans with exhilarating storylines. The ongoing season might have started slow, but it picked up steam really quickly and since then, viewers have been at the edge of their seats for all the episodes that have aired so far.

However, it seems the network and the makers have decided to disappoint some fans by doing something that they didn’t expect. With Season 23 getting intense with each episode, the network has revealed that it won’t be airing any new episode of ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ tonight and has gone on a hiatus.

When will ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ Episode 23 air?

Going on a hiatus is nothing new for TV shows. Last week, ‘1883’ didn’t air any new episode and it was reported that it was due to some scheduling issues. However, it’s shocking that ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ has once again gone on a hiatus even though it returned just three weeks ago after the holiday season.

But the bad news for the fans is that the NBC show won’t be returning for a new episode for a long time. Yes, you heard it right. The 13th episode of the ongoing season will now be premiering on February 24th and the network might air episodes from previous editions.

So, it seems ‘Law & Order’ fans would have to wait for almost a month for the new episode to arrive.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, February 3, NBC will be airing the LIVE coverage of the 2022 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony. So, that’s one of the reasons that the network won’t be airing ‘Law & Order’ next week as well.

What to expect from ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ Episode 23?

The promo released by NBC has confirmed that the show will return after the Winter Olympics. The 30-second clip revealed that the world is changing and Olivia Benson is ready to change as well. However, the video also confirms that something really diabolical is coming in Benson’s way.

The entire NYPD unit will be taking up a case that might blow their minds, but unfortunately, we don’t know what that is. The promo only shows what we can expect from the upcoming episodes. On the other hand, the network didn’t provide any official synopsis for the next one.

Let’s see what kind of dangerous cases Olivia and her team will be tackling this time around.

Will we see a crossover with ‘SVU’ and the original ‘Law & Order’? We are keeping our fingers crossed.
