A young beauty queen who was aspiring to win the upcoming Miss Mexico beauty pageant has reportedly been found dead in her home. Authorities fear 21-year-old Ximena Hita may have ended her life just weeks before the contest, albeit the exact circumstances of her death remain a mystery, according to The Sun. Hita may have committed suicide, as per initial findings, but further investigations have to be conducted before the cause of the death can be established, police spokesman Mario Garcia said. According to the Attorney General's office, several forensics teams are working to determine if foul play was involved in Hita's death.

The 21-year-old, aside from modeling, also served as a paramedic and was preparing to officially become a nurse in the city of Aguascalientes, per the report. A group of paramedics she worked with was seen in moving images attending her funeral in uniform to bid farewell for the last time.

Following the tragic news, the Miss Mexico Organization issued a statement expressing their sadness and offering their condolences to Hita's family. “Ximena, we will always remember you; thank you for all your love in favor of building an inclusive society with values, we will carry your legacy forever," the statement said. According to the report, Ximena had won Miss Aguascalientes in 2019 and had thereby qualified for Miss Mexico 2021 that is slated to take place on March 13. She had shared a poignant final message at the end of last year, wishing her followers a Merry Christmas, according to local news website hidrocalidodigital.com.

"We wish you a lot of love, peace, and a lot of patience in every challenge that comes our way, because we are sure we will achieve every goal we set ourselves," she wrote. A number of fellow beauty pageant contenders expressed their condolences, including Miss Baja California Daniela Flores. “You do not know the great pain and emptiness that you leave in our hearts. So many dreams and goals you had,” she said, while Miss Mexico City Jessica Farjat added: “You left inspiration in each person, a queen lighting up the sky. Rest beautiful.”

Last month, MEAWW reported how model Joselyn Cano, who was often dubbed "The Mexican Kim Kardashian," passed away on December 7. According to Deaddeath, however, the news reportedly only broke a couple of days later. The 29-year-old Instagram model's sudden demise caused a lot of "heartbreak and agony to the beloved" ones, according to the site. However, no cause of death was confirmed at the time of writing. Cano's family is yet to release an official statement addressing the tragic news, but several users on Twitter claimed that she died in Peru during a butt lift surgical procedure.

Cano had admitted to undergoing cosmetic surgeries to enhance various parts of her body but insisted she worked out day and night to achieve the perfect volume and tone. Cano resided in Newport Beach, California, and studied microbiology at San Diego State University, according to her LinkedIn bio. However, there isn't any further information about her background, other than she mainly rose to social media prominence by creating original content. Cano was widely popular on social media, boasting over 12.8 million followers on Instagram.
