Why did Anthony Dwayne McRae open fire at MSU?
The 43-year-old gunman who shot and killed three students at MSU allegedly had no affiliation with the university. MSU Interim Deputy Police Chief Chris Rozman said, “We have absolutely no idea what the motive was. This is still fluid. There are still crime scenes that are being processed, and we still are in the process of putting together the pieces to try to understand what happened,” reported CNN.
The Michigan police department released McRae's snapshot shortly after the fatal shooting and was later identified by a citizen of the Lansing area. Rozman stated, “That was exactly what we were trying to achieve by releasing that picture. We had no idea where he was [from] at that point.” The shooter's mother died in 2022 and he was living with his father in Lansing.
